Is Batista set for return? What to expect from his return?
With WrestleMania approaching, WWE has been linked with some of its former superstars’ who might make a comeback for the pay-per-view’s 30th anniversary. Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan are two big names in for a match at WrestleMania. Latest stories have also linked Batista with a possible return to the WWE. With WrestleMania approaching WWE will try to get some of the best seasonal superstars to perform at the “Grandest Stage of Them All”.
Batista, who has been one of the best wrestlers in the WWE for the past decade, and is a 6-time World Champion, will be a great addition to the WrestleMania match card. We all have seen Batista’s potential in several of his main event matches and pay-per-views, and even at the age of 44 he can deliver a great match if he gets an equally capable opponent.
Batista took his official retirement from the WWE in 2010 because of his issues with the creative team. Since then he has been busy doing films, but several times he has stated that he has an open invitation to return to the WWE any time, he is just waiting for the right one.
In a recent interview with Chad Dukes of the Chad Dukes Wrestling Radio Show on CBS Radio, Big E. Langston talked about his dream opponents in which he also included the name of “The Animal” Batista. “I know there’s been talk possibly, and I have no idea if it’s gonna happen, about Batista possibly coming back” said Big E. during his interview. With the wrestlers of the WWE also aware about the company’s possible talks with Batista, it becomes a more realistic prospect to see him perform again in the WWE soon.
The Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas was also advertising “the special return of Batista” and it looked like that “The Animal” is all set to make an appearance there on 16th February, 2014. But a day ago his name and graphic were removed from the promotion. It looks like WWE is keeping information on Batista’s return under cover.
Earlier Batista has stated his interest to have a match with Brock Lesnar. If WWE fulfills Batista’s wish and gets him and Lesnar in the ring at the same time, then it would be hell of a match. This match, if it happens at WrestleMania, could even overpower the WWE Heavyweight Championship match.
If Batista returns, and if he is involved in a powerful match with any of the other powerhouses of the WWE, then the match would create history, and if the length of Batista’s comeback is increased then he might even end up winning a chance at the WWE Heavyweight Championship and if things go like this, then soon we will see the World title around his waist for the seventh time. A match with Randy Orton would also be a showdown as the former Evolution-men have the capability of delivering big, and together they would not only bring the old memories back but will also bring treat for the WWE fans. A match with Sheamus or even John Cena would be equally entertaining and will serve the best purpose for WWE.
This is, in fact, the right time to bring Batista back as we are approaching WrestleMania and WWE requires some more competition at the top and in few years’ time Batista won’t be this fit to perform a run in the WWE. His return will not only benefit him, but the company and the fans as well. In Triple H’s words Batista’s return would be “what’s best for business”.
