Is Cody Rhodes' knee injury real? What we know following his match at WWE Bash in Berlin
Cody Rhodes may have come out on top against Kevin Owens, but questions have been raised. He is still the Undisputed WWE Champion, but many are now wondering if an injury concern has arisen in the process. As KO mentioned on last night's SmackDown, The American Nightmare had issues with his knee, and they seemed to resurface tonight at Bash in Berlin. So, the question on everyone's mind right now, is whether the injury was real.
In case you missed the match, there was a point when Cody Rhodes tried to go for a Cody Cutter off the top turnbuckle. Unfortunately, his knee buckled, which caused many to be worried. Luckily, Kevin Owens decided not to take advantage of the situation. However, getting back to the question, "No", Rhodes hasn't injured his knee.
While it did look like a legit injury, it was all fabricated for the purpose of the match. For those who don't remember, Kevin Owens never wanted to face Cody Rhodes. As a result, he was looking for any excuse he could find to pull out, and the champion's knee injury that he supposedly picked up during tour is what he latched onto. So, weaving the injury into their match at Bash in Berlin made sense.
The WWE Universe can expect to see Rhodes fit as a fiddle in future episodes of the blue brand. But, who knows? Perhaps the injury may 'resurface' as part of some other storyline.
Cody Rhodes must now be wary of a former adversary in Solo Sikoa
Now that Cody Rhodes has vanquished his good friend, Kevin Owens, he must now look to his next challenge. Unfortunately, his next battle will likely be a former adversary of his, Solo Sikoa. Despite defeating him at SummerSlam, it seems that The Street Champion is back for more.
Sikoa may have wished to challenge Rhodes at Bash in Berlin but was busy dealing with his cousin, Roman Reigns. Now, one would assume that it would take a while to defeat The Original Tribal Chief. But, it would seem as though Reigns has been disposed of for now, allowing Sikoa to give The American Nightmare his undivided attention.
It will be interesting to see how this rematch goes. Will Solo Sikoa finally succeed in bringing the Undisputed WWE Championship back to The Bloodline? Or will The American Nightmare continue his reign at the top?
