Is Cody Rhodes doing a Netflix movie? All you need to know
Cody Rhodes has done almost everything he possibly can inside the squared circle, and he still plans on doing more. Just days removed from becoming the first-ever WWE Crown Jewel Champion, the possibilities are endless for The American Nightmare. It will be interesting to see what's next for him in WWE. But, could his next step possibly be taking a step back from wrestling to make a Netflix movie?
The answer to that question is a straightforward "No". As things stand, Cody Rhodes is committed to one thing and one thing only, and that is professional wrestling. The Undisputed WWE Champion has a big couple of months ahead of him, what with Survivor Series around the corner, and even more PLEs to come. And it is precisely for that reason that he has probably no intention of doing a Netflix movie right now.
According to a report from Fightful Select, he was in talks to star in a Netflix film, but a deal fell through. The prevailing theory is that it has to do with his already busy schedule with WWE. After all, as champion, he has huge responsibilities, and given that he wants to be on that John Cena "schedule", he will likely have to dedicate every hour of every day to pro wrestling.
Of course, all that could change if he loses the title to someone. Should that come to pass, he will certainly have time for a movie, and in both the pro wrestling business and the entertainment business, you can never say never. We will just have to wait and see.
Cody Rhodes will be looking forward to seeing who his next challenger is for his title
Cody Rhodes' tenure as WWE Undisputed Champion can be characterized as "so far so good". As a champion, he has proven to be strong and effective in defending his title. The American Nightmare has managed to defeat opponents such as AJ Styles, Solo Sikoa, and Kevin Owens during his time as champion, and he is now preparing for his next challenger.
After defeating the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, Rhodes is likely feeling self-assured. There certainly won't be a shortage of superstars interested in challenging him for his title. He may opt to have a rematch with Kevin Owens, who has been causing him trouble recently and whom he wants to defeat. Alternatively, he may face a new challenger altogether.
Hopefully, we will find out this week on SmackDown just what the future holds for Cody Rhodes. Either way though, it is sure to be an exciting one, as he looks to continue his dominance as champion.
