Is John Cena afraid of facing Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania XXX?

John Cena’s legacy in danger?

John Cena recently did an interview with Michael Cole. Here are some highlights:

On Bray Wyatt affecting John Cena like no other superstar has ever done before:

“I wanted to be the Rock. I felt as if I needed to justify my being, to justify my place in WWE Universe. And when I couldn’t do that, you start to look at yourself from the outside. And then you realise, “Okay, maybe I’m here”; and then you get another chance, and then you rise to the occasion.

“I have been putting him all this time, I have been sacrificing myself for a purpose. That everything is for the greater good.

“That’s where Bray is different.  Maybe because he’s so new. He doesn’t care about rhyme or reason. He doesn’t care about who the best is. He sees John Cena, and says “I want to turn that guy into a monster.”

On John Cena’s statement at Monday Night RAW:

“I’m afraid of Bray Wyatt”

“I’ve had a lot of competition in my day, and every one of them wanted to defeat me for the purpose of climbing up the WWE rings.

“But Wyatt, I don’t think he even cares about winning. He just wants to destroy everything in my life I’ve built, and falsify everything.

“People are listening to him. He has a weird way of holding people’s attention. I listen to him, and that’s why I said what I said. I had to come to grips with it.

“I don’t know what his end game is. I don’t know what his plan is. And if he is successful at WrestleMania, more people will listen because in this business, the more momentum you gain, the more impressions you make.”

On if his match vs. Bray Wyatt is simply about the Cena Legacy:

“I think it’s protecting it. My biggest fear is that this loose canon gains momentum for people to be hypnotised. If you want to buy into my stock, this is what I believe in – You stay loyal to those who support you, you show respect to friends and enemies. That’s my stance. Either you’re in, or you’re out.

“Bray is trying to shield this idea that those are just words. That’s tough to swallow. Especially for somebody like me who breaks his neck but comes back in 25% of the recovery time. I don’t refuse any challenge, I never frustrated with any situation, but what I fear most is all the sacrifices I’ve made to try to not win anybody over, but just try to get people to believe “Yes, this is what he stands for!”

“That’s my legacy. That’s what I want. I don’t agree with you, but I respect you.

What Bray Wyatt is trying to do is take that respect away. And Bray Wyatt is trying to make John Cena some b*ll s**t character and the belief and the respect will be gone.”
