Is Randy Orton going to end Hell in a Cell as WWE Champion?

Over the course of the feud between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton, Bryan has constantly been better than Orton when it came down to a wrestling match. The last two pay per views saw Bryan come out as the WWE champion only to be harassed by the Authority. Time and again, Daniel Bryan has been made to look like the underdog and as far as reality can be separated from the fictional world of the WWE, Bryan has had a true underdog story. But such stories always have an expiry date. John Cena was made to look like one and he exceeded his saturation point and now he is the most polarizing superstar in the WWE with equally passionate admirers and detractors.

Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton’s rivalry may not be the best WWE has ever had to offer. It is not even the best of the PG Era. But in many ways, the beginning of this rivalry brought forth many exciting twists and turns. There is no doubt that the heel turns of Orton, Stephanie and Triple H have been better than each of their babyface phases but there are only a handful of feuds which are always entertaining. Austin and Rock had it. Jericho and Shawn Michaels had it. The closest feud that comes to that quality in the PG era was between Cena and Punk. Bryan- Orton don’t even come close and that is why chances are that this feud might be seeing its inevitable end thus Sunday or maybe soon afterwards.

It was reported that Orton has been written into the WWE title picture till January. This could well indicate that Orton might become the WWE champion again and maybe this Sunday is the moment. Randy Orton has been a vicious heel when it came to him facing various opponents like Miz and RVD. But Bryan seems to know how to deal with that. Bryan has always looked strong against Orton one on one and that is why Hell in the Cell is the perfect opportunity for Orton to come out looking dangerous than ever.

Towards the build up to NoC, Bryan came out looking strong leading to speculations that according to WWE tradition he will lose at NoC. But the exact opposite happened. The build up to HITC has been the same but I don’t think anybody wants to see Bryan win only to be stripped again off the title. That’ll make three. Just because Bryan has been better than Orton in a one on one situation, Orton’s chances of winning the title are more as he could use a bit of momentum.

This past Monday the contract signing made Triple H and HBK look like monotonous adults and Bryan and Orton like two kids fighting for a piece of candy. But hopefully this Sunday, Orton and Bryan might just have a better story to display.
