Jay Lethal talks WWE interest, former writer talks nixed angle for Reigns
In a recent interview with Channel Guide Magazine to promote this weekend’s All -Star extravaganza PPV, ROH World and TV champion Jay Lethal spoke about the rumours surrounding WWE’s interest in getting him onboard.
WWE have been crossing paths with Ring of Honor more than once of late, and the recent speculation has been about the biggest pro wrestling company in the world wanting to sign Lethal. Lethal says that it will be an honour to be considered by the WWE, or for that matter any promotion as that’s what any professional wrestler aspires for. “To be wanted in professional wrestling, that's all a wrestler can really ask for. Just to be wanted, it's a great feeling. So if that's true, I'm honored.” says Lethal. However he denies any knowledge of such a thing.
Lethal has been in the professional wrestling business for a while, earning his chops wrestling for the likes of TNA, where he even scored a pinfall over legend Kurt Angle to become the X-Division champion. He though expresses his admiration for the WWE inspiring him to want to be a pro-wrestler to begin with. "When I became a fan, it was because I watched the WWF as a fan growing up. It helped create this love growing up that I have for professional wrestling, much like everyone from my era.”
it is for the same reason that Lethal feels it would be a cool thing to work for the company that created that kind of love in him for the business, something that he is open to doing at the right time and at the right place.
But, by the same token, he expresses his satisfaction at being where he is. “I'm the undisputed champion of a company that's known around the world. Not for its storylines, music or entrance. I'm the world champion of a company known around the world for its wrestling. What an honor to get to say that."
