WWE News: Jeff Jarrett to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame by former DX member
What's the story?
It has been announced that Jeff Jarrett will be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame 2018 by multiple-time WWE Tag Team Champion and ex D-Generation X member Road Dogg.
WWE confirmed this news on their Twitter page with the following tweet:
In case you didn't know
A few weeks ago, WWE revealed that Jarrett was going to be a WWE Hall Of Fame 2018 inductee. This was shock considering his rocky past with the company.
Jarrett has had an illustrious career with his stints in WWE, WCW, TNA (whom he is the founder of, and a Hall Of Famer there too) and elsewhere,
His history with Road Dogg goes back a long while. In particular, they were a tag-team together in the WWE/F back in 1994 and 1995, when Road Dogg was known as The Roadie to Jarrett, whose gimmick was to be a country singer.
The pair controversially walked on the WWE together in '95 to join the United States Wrestling Association, but then Dogg (as Jesse James) soon returned to the WWE without Jarrett (who did come back eventually).
When he left WWE in 2002, Road Dogg would wrestle for Jarrett's TNA.
The heart of the matter
It may not have been hard to guess that it would be Road Dogg putting Jarrett into the WWE Hall Of Fame considering the WWE uploaded a video on March 1st onto YouTube of Road Dogg reacting to the Hall Of Fame news regarding Jarrett.
What's next?
On Friday, April 6th, Road Dogg will induct Jarrett into the WWE Hall Of Fame in the Smoothie King Center.
WrestleMania 34 takes place that Sunday, and Road Dogg will be busy that night in his role as a writer and a producer.
Author's take
Although there were plenty of candidates to induct Jarrett, Road Dogg is a great pick.
Apart from their time working together in WWE, TNA and USWA, Dogg and Jarrett were also both generational wrestlers.
Jarrett being third-generational and Dogg being second-generational (his real surname is Amrstrong).
They and their families are legends of the business.
