Jim Ross Q & A with fans: Talks about the Montreal Screwjob, effect of new WWE TV deal and more

WWE Hall of Famer and former announcer Jim Ross has recently interacted with fans and posted it on his blog. Here are the highlights of this Q & A.

On Wrestlemania XXV’s streak match b/w The Phenom and The Showstopper being their greatest ever?:

How does one quantify ‘best ever?’ I can’t. However, that match was spectacular.

Is reviving the NWA a viable option?:

LOTS of cash….national TV outlet…new stars. So…not too likely.

Has CM Punk surpassed the Heart-Break Kid?:

You are comparing apples to oranges, so to speak. Punk has not surpassed HBK in the ring as no one has in my view. The two are different entirely entities but both are big time players.

On having prior knowledge of “The Montreal Screwjob”?:

No, we did not know.

Was WWE facing bankruptcy and closure?:

The company was in serious financial trouble in the mid 90′s. We were in perilous waters.

Is WWE Hall of Fame induction process based on voting?:

If it is an actual voting system, who are the people who get a vote? Used to be an informal committee making suggestions.

Watching RAW on TNT with WWE pursuing a new deal?:

Any thing can happen when rights fees are being negotiated for proven TV content.

Would Angle beat Hodge in a 1 on 1 Amateur wrestling bout:

Hodge is one of the only pros that Kurt likely could not have beaten. Arguably, the only one, IMO.
