Jimmy Uso sabotaging The Usos’ relationship, Triple H neglecting top WWE champion? - 5 Mistakes that were made on RAW this week
After a pre-taped episode last week, the latest episode of WWE RAW was back in front of a live audience. The Bloodline recruitment for WarGames took some screen time again as Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso all looked for a fifth member for their squad.
Damian Priest defeated Ludwig Kaiser after a brief confrontation with Gunther. Pete Dunne bested Kofi Kingston after Kingston talked himself into a fight with The Bruiserweight.
Some pairings and segments landed, while others felt random or illogical. WWE made the next five mistakes on the latest episode of RAW.
#5. The OG Bloodline recruitment drive
Throughout the night, Sami Zayn and The Usos tried to find the final member of their team for WarGames. Jey Uso tried to talk to Rey Mysterio in the background of a backstage segment but didn't have luck.
Jimmy Uso walked up to Bron Breakker, of all people, forgetting that he was the man who had taken the Intercontinental Championship from both Zayn and Jey. Zayn, however, made a logical pitch with the best reasoning.
He asked Seth Rollins to join, but he ultimately rejected the offer. Rollins was surprised Zayn would do Roman Reigns' bidding after all he put Zayn through. While Sami and Seth's conversation made sense, The Usos didn't use their heads when pursuing potential teammates.
4. Putting all the blame on Xavier Woods
For most of the last few months, commentators have blamed Xavier Woods whenever something has gone wrong between The New Day. They blamed him for winning after pulling off Rey Mysterio's mask.
He was also taken off guard when Kofi went behind his back to recruit help without his knowledge. This week's RAW saw Kofi talking smack to R-Truth behind Woods' back. When Woods walked over to confront his friend about it, Dunne rushed to get in Truth's face.
Kingston then stood up for Truth despite Woods imploring Kofi to stay out of it. After a match between Kingston and Dunne, Kofi lost. He blamed Woods, while the former King of the Ring told Kofi to focus on himself and The New Day.
Woods has plenty of logic behind his actions because the duo hasn't been nearly as successful. Commentary tried to make it seem like it was all Woods' fault.
#3. Bron Breakker appears only as a setup on RAW
The Intercontinental Champion hasn't been featured on RAW since before Crown Jewel. Bron Breakker recaptured the title but then disappeared for a few weeks. On this week's show, Breakker appeared backstage after facing Sheamus on Speed.
Breakker should focus on the title he already has, especially since it hasn't been featured lately. His exchange with Sheamus was only to set up a match for next week.
The bout could have easily taken place instead of the random main event or another loss for Kaiser. It's nice to see Speed acknowledged on RAW or SmackDown, but it shouldn't be a device for a current Champion to get on screen.
#2. Adam Pearce appears after Crown Jewel trauma
While the Crown Jewel match between Randy Orton and Kevin Owens never materialized, other significant actions did. As officials and both GMs tried to separate the former allies, Orton assaulted an official and hit Pearce with an RKO. Owens stunned an official and security.
Pearce appeared on RAW to break things up between Seth Rollins and Bronson Reed. He later made a match between the two for next week. Did he forget that he was assaulted by a superstar at a WWE PLE?
Orton and Owens are SmackDown stars but still assaulted WWE management. They should have been fined and suspended on RAW or SmackDown. Instead, Pearce acted like nothing happened.
#1. Everything about the Women's Tag Team main event
There were several problems with the main event of this week's RAW. The spot going to the Final Testament and the Wyatt Sicks would have given it a big boost. The Miz showed he was truly a liar by blasting Uncle Howdy with a chair as The Final Testament left The Wyatt Sicks beaten in the ring.
Uncle Howdy laughed as Kross and his minions left the ring. The Women's Tag Team title match wasn't anything special. In the end, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill retained.
It would have been better for a PLE, especially with RAW's Champion getting pinned by a Tag Team Champion from the blue brand. Everything felt rushed and overly convoluted to set up what will likely be the women's WarGames contest. Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Naomi all randomly appeared.
IYO SKY helped the faces despite warring with Cargill and Belair over the last few months. The logic didn't fit at all, and the women's tag titles have been on every main roster show since Crown Jewel. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh still haven't defended their titles.
