Kevin Owens to introduce his real-life female friend as his new manager on WWE SmackDown? Speculating potential move
Kevin Owens recently turned heel at the WWE Bad Blood Premium Live Event when he attacked Cody Rhodes backstage. His villainous transformation has been frightful in the past few weeks, and The Prizefighter has pulled off this new persona convincingly well.
As heels in WWE are often seen with a manager, Kevin Owens might also turn up with one. Who could that person be? She's none other than Cathy Kelly, the backstage interviewer on Monday Night RAW, and one of KO's best female friends in the company.
Owens and Cathy Kelly have been good friends for the past few years. They have also hosted The Cathy Kelley and Kevin Owens Show on YouTube. Moreover, the possibility of Cathy Kelly transforming into the manager of the former Universal Champion has increased because she recently spoke up about taking a managerial role in the company.
During a recent conversation with B4TheBell, the 36-year-old host said that she was willing to step up as a manager if the pairing was right. Kelly further stated that she has indeed envisioned herself involved in a WWE storyline down the road.
"I would definitely be open to managing if it is the right pairing. That is something that I would love to grow into, whether that's tomorrow or a decade down the line because I do see myself involved in WWE and wrestling in some way throughout my entire career," Cathy said on B4TheBell. Cathy became an honorary member of the Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Bobby Fish) during their time together in NXT. She hasn't been utilized as a manager yet on WWE TV.
She made her debut with WWE NXT in 2019 but left on February 13, 2020, to pursue her acting career. In 2020, she made her acting debut on the Netflix sitcom, #blackAF as a flight attendant. On October 6, 2022, she returned to the Stamford-based promotion as a backstage interviewer on the RAW brand. In December 2022, she started hosting the show, The OK Show along with Kevin Owens on YouTube.
Kevin Owens to show up on WWE SmackDown this week
The former Universal Champion will show up on SmackDown this week after he wasn't allowed to enter the arena last week by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. Last week, Cody Rhodes had demanded Kevin Owens to come out to the ring, but Aldis turned up and said KO wasn't allowed to be on the show for brutally hurting Randy Orton with the banned move - The Piledriver.
However, after this segment, Owens appeared in a promo shot from his car, where he said that he received a call from SmackDown GM, who asked him to be present on SmackDown this week.
Moreover, Owens showed no remorse for assaulting Randy Orton. Instead, he said that he was just doing his job. Owens said that he would be in Salt Lake City, Utah for a face-off with The American Nightmare this Friday night.
