Kevin Owens & major star to settle their differences; form alliance ahead of WrestleMania? Exploring the possibility
Kevin Owens is currently locked in a heated rivalry with Cody Rhodes. The rivalry started when Cody decided to join forces with KO's chief nemesis, Roman Reigns, at Bad Blood. Hence, The Prizefighter could soon ally with a star who shares the same hatred for the OTC. The star is none other than Drew McIntyre. KO faced Cody Rhodes for the latter's Undisputed WWE Championship at Saturday Night's Main Event 2024.
After battling a tough war, The American Nightmare managed to retain his title. However, despite winning the match, the night concluded on a bad note for Rhodes, as KO nailed a Package Piledriver on Cody, leaving the champion motionless in the center of the ring. Cody Rhodes was immediately rushed to the hospital. Later, WWE issued a statement on The American Nightmare’s health condition, revealing the nature of the 39-year-old's injuries.
In the latest episode of SmackDown, during a backstage promo, Kevin Owens claimed he was robbed of a win at SNME and that’s the reason why he took the Winged Eagle version of the title with him. The Prizefighter issued a threat to the entire WWE management, stating, ''What happens next is on all of you!''
In a shocking twist, Kevin Owens could settle his difference with Drew McIntyre, who has been gunning for the OG Bloodline since his return. The two recently engaged in a war of words on X. However, KO and McIntyre have one thing in common: they both hate Roman Reigns. Hence, they could join forces ahead of WrestleMania 41, overpowering the entire roster, including the OG Bloodline.
However, this is speculative at this point.
Kevin Owens to compete in a high-stakes match on RAW's debut edition on Netflix?
Since being taken out by KO at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes has been away from the limelight. The reigning champion's absence has raised concerns among fans about his health. The WWE Universe initially feared that The American Nightmare was actually injured. However, no report or update has indicated any real-life injury. Hence, it appears the angle is just for storyline purposes.
There is a chance that Cody Rhodes will return before the end of 2024. If he does, Triple H could book a high-stakes match between KO and The American Nightmare for the season premiere of RAW on Netflix on January 6, 2025.
However, this is just speculation at this point. It remains to be seen what the creative team has in store for the Owens-Rhodes saga in the coming months.
