Kevin Owens may have accidentally spoiled the mastermind behind his heel turn on Cody Rhodes
The storyline involving Kevin Owens on SmackDown has been gaining significant attention from the WWE Universe, with fans fully invested in its progression. A recent video of the Prizefighter, where he expressed his disappointment with Randy Orton and WWE, has made fans even more excited for the upcoming twists.
However, it seems that the Prizefighter may have already spoiled the big reveal that the mastermind behind his villainous turn on Cody Rhodes is none other than Randy Orton.
Kevin Owens has already dropped a major hint through his recent actions
Last week on SmackDown, The Viper stood alongside The American Nightmare, which led to Randy Orton suffering a backstage attack at the hands of Kevin Owens. This week, Orton demanded a match against Owens from SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, but Aldis denied the request, stating that higher authorities did not allow him to book the match.
Amid this, Kevin Owens updated his official profile picture on Twitter (X), which featured Orton, Rhodes, and Owens. However, the Prizefighter cropped out most of Cody Rhodes, leaving only a small portion of his head visible.
Meanwhile, the image still prominently features both Randy and Kevin, leading many to speculate that this is a major hint that the Legend Killer may be secretly siding with the former Universal Champion. If Kevin Owens held a real grudge against Orton for the attack, he might have cropped the Legend Killer out of his profile picture just like he did with Cody Rhodes.
This suggests that Randy could be playing along, pretending to feud with KO. It might also explain why Owens hasn’t resurfaced yet as he perhaps waiting for Cody to finish his feud against Gunther at Crown Jewel before making his next move.
There are already many hints indicating Orton's heel turn
This isn’t the first hint suggesting that Randy Orton may be the mastermind behind Kevin Owens' heel turn. Last week on SmackDown, The Viper was seen holding the Undisputed WWE Championship in his hands while talking to Cody Rhodes. Interestingly, he only handed over the title to Cody at the very last moment before their conversation ended.
On several previous occasions, eagle-eyed fans have noticed Orton eyeing the Undisputed WWE Title while sharing segments with Cody. These subtle hints seem to further fuel speculation that the Apex Predator is on the verge of a villainous turn in WWE.
Randy is already disappointed with The American Nightmare
Another factor that solidifies the idea that Randy Orton could be behind Kevin Owens' heel turn is Orton’s own disappointment with the Undisputed WWE Champion. The Legend Killer expressed his frustration when Cody Rhodes agreed to team up with Roman Reigns, as Orton couldn’t understand the rationale behind that decision.
Given Orton’s existing disappointment, there’s a strong possibility that everything happening right now is part of a premeditated plan by Orton to trap Cody Rhodes, with the help of Owens.
