Kevin Owens to quit WWE in real life; Triple H to handle the problem himself? 4 Fallouts for KO following his comments on SmackDown
Kevin Owens gave fans the shock of their lives after delivering a brutal beatdown on reigning Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a parking lot after the Bad Blood 2024 Premium Live Event. Fans were left baffled as to why KO did that though they were aware that it was bound to happen considering the subtle hints on live TV.
Randy Orton also received similar treatment during the October 11, 2024, episode of SmackDown, where he was attacked backstage by Owens.
Fast-forward to the present day and Kevin Owens took to social media to vent his frustrations with both the Stamford-based promotion and Orton. He ended with an uncertainty that got fans musing about it.
#4. Going on a hiatus as part of a storyline
Kevin Owens’ recent social media post got fans concerned as he mentioned how unsure he is to ever return to in-ring action. However, some people believe that this is part of a storyline that could lead to another brawl fit for a PLE.
His recent post could also result in him having a confrontation with WWE higher-ups similar to Stone Cold Steve Austin during the Attitude Era.
WWE's creative led by its Chief Content Officer, Triple H, is doing an awesome job in keeping its fandom hooked with the storylines they have been rolling out. If this is indeed a work, then this narrative involving The Prizefighter is another compelling angle.
#3. Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton
As mentioned above, the Kevin Owens situation could result in a banger of a match. From the looks of it, KO could be up against Randy Orton.
It is noticeable that apart from Cody Rhodes, there is also tension building up between Owens and Orton. Things went out of hand during the October 11, 2024, edition of SmackDown when The Viper punched KO while trying to separate him and Rhodes. Kevin would later launch a backstage attack on Orton that got him sanctioned.
This week’s episode of the blue brand saw Orton demanding General Manager Nick Aldis to get him and Owens to compete in a match at the upcoming Crown Jewel Premium Live Event. However, this was denied by Aldis stating that it is the folks from "up above" who call the shots on such a request.
It may well seem that Orton knew who Aldis was referring to as the former went off to the people who could make the match happen.
It sure was intriguing who Aldis was talking about. If Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton comes to fruition for Crown Jewel 2024, it is likely that the people "up above" will be revealed as well.
#2. Triple H might intervene in the Kevin Owens situation
There is also this possibility that WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H might also get involved with what is happening with Kevin Owens.
The Game has a good working relationship with the current WWE roster since he too was an in-ring competitor during his heyday. Now that he is one of the Stamford-based promotion’s higher-ups, Triple H is responsible for whatever issues the superstars are facing as well.
In line with this, The King of Kings took to social media to address the incident between Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes after Bad Blood 2024 adding that it would be dealt with internally. However, if KO remains aggressively defiant with the WWE management, what measures will The Game be taking to cool things down with The Prizefighter? Only time will tell.
#1. KO might quit WWE to join AEW
If the angle involving Kevin Owens is not part of a storyline, then the 40-year-old star could be on his way out of the Stamford-based company and could even jump ship to AEW.
The recent clip that Owens posted over on social media showed a frustrated KO stating that he felt disregarded by WWE. He believes that such a treatment was due to him attacking Cody Rhodes, whom he described as the Stamford-based promotion's golden boy.
Provided that KO decides to leave the company, it was reported that it could happen in early 2025 since his contract is set to expire by then. However, some people believe that he had already re-signed with WWE.
Owens is one of the most sought-after in-ring performers to date and whichever company he decides to join is expected to rake in substantial attention from fans.
