Kurt Angle not interested in returning to WWE for an NXT spot
One of the most talked about things with regards to former WWE names returning to the company has been the WWE – Kurt Angle dynamic. Rumours have ranged from the relationship between the two sides being icy at best, to WWE or Angle turning down advances from the other party for talks.
However, with Angle recently announcing that he is done with pro wrestling following the end of his TNA contract at the end of this year, many a speculation has been going around if the chances of a return of the Olympic gold medallist has increased.
The former 6-time WWE world champion was the guest on this week’s Ring Rust Radio and one of the things that came up was his attitude towards a possible return to WWE under the NXT banner. Below is the excerpt from the chat:
A lot of former TNA talent has turned up in NXT as of late such as Samoa Joe and James Storm. If there was no interest on WWE's part in a main-roster run, but they offered you a spot in NXT, how would you react to that? Is it something that would interest you?
"No. With all due respect, the talent on the NXT roster is phenomenal. They are doing something right down there as far as getting talent ready. I just don't think it would be worth it for either side to have me go down there and work on NXT. Not saying I wouldn't do it, but it is considered the WWE minor league. With that in mind, I think anybody would feel the same way about it."
It is interesting to note that Angle isn’t jumping on any train headed to the WWE station, but then again, the Olympic gold medallist is a bigger name than both Samoa Joe & James Storm.
