WWE News: Kurt Angle predicts UFC star Conor McGregor will join WWE
As noted Kurt Angle appeared on the Ric Flair’s podcast recently and discussed many subjects including the possibility UFC mega-star Conor McGregor joining WWE. The 47-year-old was asked what he thinks UFC star Conor McGregor has been up to since he first stepped into the UFC limelight.
Angle says “the Notorious” is technically proficient both in terms of fighting skills and brash personality
“Conor McGregor is an incredible athlete and a wonderful fighter, (I’ve) watched him and he’s so polished. I believe that Conor has taken the wrestling playbook and utilized it in UFC. In other words, he loves being a heel and he does it very well”
He continued by saying that the Irishman moving to the pro Wrestling could be happening soon “I think he just did it because it makes his character even more hateful. I think that Conor is doing this strictly for the money. The more he can stir people up, the more popular he becomes. I also think he wants to crossover. I think he wants to go to WWE and this is a good opening, a good avenue for him. I don’t think Conor McGregor is going to fight much longer.”
Kurt Angle is reportedly looking to return to WWE after an absence of almost 10 years. The six-time WWE champion's last match was against Sabu in August 2006. Kurt Angle has been linked with a move back to WWE for some time now and the fans are eagerly awaiting news about his return.
During the interview, Angle highlighted that he held talks with Triple H about his potential return to the ring. Angle completely ruled out the 2016 return, however, he said that he would certainly on board in the future if the offer was made.
Despite his desire to return, the Olympic gold medal winner said that he is not prepared to sit around and wait for WWE to make an offer.
Angle hasn’t stepped inside the WWE ring for a long time, however, he keeps himself busy in the independent circuits. The former WWE and TNA star faced Cody Rhodes in a first-ever match at the NEW Wrestling Under the Stars event in Wappingers Falls, New York on 27 August. The highly anticipated match was won by Cody Rhodes via Pinfall. However, the match between two former WWE Superstars is scheduled to take place again at WCPW’s October 8th event in Manchester.
