Kurt Angle talks being in WWE rehab, Brock Lesnar
Kurt Angle appeared on The Big J Show this morning on Hot 101.9 (KRSQ). During the interview, Angle noted that he was in the WWE rehabilitation program, and his road to recovery “is great.” Here are some highlights from the interview, you can listen to it in its entirety above.
A WWE return or UFC appearance: “I am happy where I am. I dabbled with UFC, talked to Dana White a couple different times. Came up with contracts but couldn’t agree on a starting date. Now it’s too late for me, I’m 44, I’m turning 45 in December, I would have loved to have done it. It just wasn’t in the cards. I love Dana White, and we were able to reach an agreement. The starting times were just too early for me.”
An acting career: “I’m interested in doing that. I have a good agency. It’s really hard when you are wrestling year-round. It’s starting to open up for me so yeah I have done about 6 movies and I plan on doing more. My focus is helping Impact Wrestling and doing the best I can.”
Wrestling Brock Lesnar: “Oh me, he knows that. I wouldn’t wanna get in a cage with him! He’s a rare breed, you only find an individual like him once in ten lifetimes.”
A possible WWE Hall of Fame induction: “You have to be. I am very honored to be in the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame, but any hall of fame especially the WWE Hall Of Fame you wanna be a part of it. That’s where I started. I have to give them credit on my character development. Teaching me my skills. You always want to be apart of their Hall of Fame. It’s legendary.”
His favorite WWE moment: “I had the opportunity to wrestle Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 21 and it was like magic. It was definitely one of my favorite matches. It might be one of the top 5 greatest matches of all time and I have to give a lot of credit to that to Shawn. He’s amazing.”
