Legend Of The Undertaker
Once upon a time a great King by name of Vincent Kennedy McMahon ruled a giant kingdom called the WWE.
He was known as “the genius king” for he always knew what his people known as the WWE Universe wanted.
He had an army like none seen before. An army full of giants, monsters and champions. No one ever messed with the kingdom of WWE.
Names like Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant were synonymous of fear in hearts of the rival kingdoms. There were submission specialists, power houses and high fliers who embraced his army.
They oozed charisma, passion for their work and love for their kingdoms.
McMahon firmly believed that competition makes a man better. So he often would organize events where he would let his best fighters have a go at each other at different levels for various prizes biggest being the WWE championship. These battles kept them fresh for wars and hungry for more. The WWE champion would lead the army into the wars.
Then once during one such event, an idea occurred to the great king. A sudden desire to create a spectacle that the world shall see, a one of its kind event gave him sleepless nights.
After a lot of brain storming with ministers and champions, old and new, Vince McMahon decided to take the risk. Hence, the legend of Wrestle-Mania was born.
People from across the world came to see something like never before. The biggest stars of the legendary WWE army would go on and fight in giant stadiums for the pride of the WWE.
Within few years of its inception, Wrestle-Mania became an event of a lifetime. The fighters worked throughout the year to get a show time on the grandest stage. Musicians, dancers, artists from around the globe would arrive and perform in front of a behemoth crowd.
Vince with the help of his spectacle was on the way to write the glory of his kingdom in golden books of history.
During the last legs of the 20th century, once it happened so that Mr. McMahon along with his ministers while travelling lost his way back home. The horses took them to a place sans vegetation and civilization.
Suddenly they were attacked by a pack of man eating beasts. The starving caravan was about to give in when a dark force appeared and shooed away the beasts.
The dark force then took them to his castle and took a great care of them.
“Who are you o benevolent savior of ours? And what is this horrifying place?” asked the genius king.
“The place is known as the Death Valley. I am the Undertaker and you right now are in my kingdom.” The giant dark force told in a voice which sent down chills in the spines of McMahon and his ministers.
“O great Undertaker, I can’t thank you enough for your great act. Let me introduce myself and my fellow travelers. I am the ruler of the giant kingdom down south called WWE, and these are my ministers. I extend my hand for a friendship with your majesty”
The genius king was plotting a plan in his mind. He knew he needed the prince of darkness in the WWE. He had never seen a force like him. All his champions were dwarfed by the power this man possessed. The fierceness that he showed while combating the beasts, was unseen.
“Can I see you in private for a minute?” McMahon asked the phenomenal dark Prince.
The dawn turned into dusk, but the door stayed closed.
When the two rulers came out of the chamber, the Undertaker joined the caravan. He was going to the land of WWE.
He wrecked havoc amongst his opponents and won championships. He would defeat the greatest of the greats with great ease, overpower the beasts and tame the giants. He was called the dead man for he never stayed down for too long. The WWE Universe loved him. He was a true champion for them.
But his biggest feat would start at that year’s Wrestle Mania. Since then, every year on the grandest stage of them all he would go up against the fiercest opponents McMahon would pit him against one by one and stood tall every single time. The list of fighters he put down included champions and legends.
The men came, and men went but “the streak” continued.
Three times over the course of time, he was challenged by none other than the Son-in-law of King Vince, also the future king, at Wrestle Mania and three times the proud scion was put down by the Undertaker.
With time even the deadman aged. His war affected, battered body would give way to injuries, and he would often disappear for long months to heal his decaying self. Then came a time when he would just show up at the time of Wrestle Mania. He looked old, and a shell of what he used to be but even then none could tame his unmatched powers on the day of spectacle.
Today, 21 Wrestle Manias later “the streak” still remains as the biggest attraction of the colossal event.
In the springs of 2014, the old genius king McMahon shall organize his spectacle for the thirtieth year.
The Undertaker has not been seen or heard for a long time. Standing at the threshold of the grandest event the WWE Universe awaits its greatest hero. They know that he shall return one more time.
Yes, the old outlaw might be standing at the cliff of his career. One more battle perhaps or two shall be it. The end is near as we know it. But the dead man shall rise through his dark meadows one more time. One more time for his people, for his legacy, for “the streak”.
