Lesnar vs Del Rio announced for WWE live event, more
A lot of the latest talk around WWE off late has been the return of Brock Lesnar, amid falling ratings, and what scenario would be ideal for his return. ‘The Beast’ is slated for an appearance at a WWE live event in Los Angeles, on December 19th.
While the status of the event on the Network remains unknown, the opponent for Lesnar has been announced as WWE US champion Alberto Del Rio. The match is for the US title, and if Lesnar wins, this would be the first time ever that Brock would be in possession of any title other than the main WWE titles.
While Lesnar is a 3-time WWE champion during his first stint with the WWE, he has held the WWE World Heavyweight title since his comeback in 2012. The match-up is interesting as both Del Rio and Lesnar are known to work a physical style, with both having a background in shoot fighting.
Also, announced on the card are matches involving Roman Reigns vs. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus and Dean Ambrose vs. WWE Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens for the event.
John Cena was initially supposed to be a part of the card too, but was pulled later.
