Logan Paul to quit WWE after losing his title; 47-year-old legend to retire soon? - 4 things The Maverick can do following SummerSlam 2024
Logan Paul held the WWE United States Championship for nearly nine months and dropped it to LA Knight at SummerSlam 2024 in his third defense of the title. The Maverick is one of the most popular WWE stars, so it will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for him after the setback at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
That said, here are four possible directions for the YouTube sensation following his loss at WWE SummerSlam.
#4 Logan Paul quits WWE
Logan Paul was very confident heading into his match with LA Knight at SummerSlam, but The Megastar embarrassed him and dethroned him as the United States Champion.
The Maverick may take a hiatus from WWE for a while, so the company can book an angle where he quits. He recently sparked controversy on social media, so the company can briefly keep him on the sidelines to avoid negative publicity.
He could return for Crown Jewel later this year for a rematch against Knight as Triple H usually books him for premium live events in Saudi Arabia.
#3 A match with John Cena
John Cena is set to return to in-ring action for his retirement tour in 2025. WWE fans want to see The Cenation Leader compete against many top names and Logan Paul is one of them.
A match between the two stars would generate a lot of buzz, allowing WWE to capture the attention of casual pro wrestling fans. It could happen at WrestleMania or an international premium live event.
#2 Form a faction with A-Town Down Under
Logan Paul gets along very well with Grayson Waller and Austin Theory. A-Town Down Under got involved in the former United States Champion's feud with Kevin Owens and Randy Orton earlier this year.
The Maverick does not have a clear direction in WWE following his loss at SummerSlam. The same is the case for A-Town Down Under, who recently lost the WWE Tag Team Championship to DIY.
The three men could form a trio and Paul could use both Waller and Theory as his lackeys.
#1 Logan Paul retires AJ Styles
After losing an 'I Quit' Match to Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle: Scotland, AJ Styles was written off WWE programming. He recently returned to Japan for a match against Naomichi Marufuji at Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Destination 2024 event.
The Phenomenal One will probably be back in WWE sometime this year. He is someone Logan Paul has never faced before, but if they do, it would surely turn out to be a great matchup.
AJ Styles is 47, so he will be planning to retire soon. WWE could book Paul to face The Phenomenal One in his final match to retire him at a big event.
