Looking into Chris Jericho's current run and his future in WWE
Chris Jericho returned to WWE this Royal Rumble surprising everyone. His 45 minute run in the Rumble gave everyone a glimmer of hope that this run from Jericho will give all the Jerichoholics some relief. Though this run was better than his previous run, he still managed only losses than wins. Jericho’s present losing streak is understandable because WWE expects him to put over young talent, and arguably there isn’t anyone better at the moment than him when it comes to that. Jericho, after his return, was put in a feud with newcomer Fandango, who had nothing but his theme music to brag about before the feud. Jericho sold him really well at Wrestlemania, making him a well established midcarder now to say the least.
After this, he gave us two excellent back to back matches with Daniel Bryan and then fought Punk in Payback last week. His run this time has clearly shown how selfless and complete he is as a wrestler and also as a professional. Jericho has had a wonderful career and it would be sad to see him leave with a streak of losses. It is high time WWE gave Jericho a better feud where he will actually gain a few victories. The best way for Jericho to retire would be after winning a title, preferably the WWE title, which Jericho truly deserves. One last run for Jericho with the title is what most Jerichoholics want to see and Vince and his team must spare a thought for this.
Now speaking of his future in WWE, news reports say that Jericho will be absent from WWE until Summerslam or even till Royal Rumble as he will be out on tour with his rock band Fozzy. Although many were aware of his absence, not many expected him to be absent till early next year. Reports suggest that Jericho will return early next year and start of a feud that leads to his match against an yet unknown opponent into Wrestlemania XXX.
Chris Jericho’s absence in WWE will surely leave a void hard to fill as WWE will miss out on a wrestler who has the skill to do almost anything that WWE wanted to him to. There is hardly a wrestler in WWE today who is as versatile as Jericho inside the ring and also on the mic. Let us hope that Jericho gets one last final run where he is given the chance to be a Champion and leave the ring on a high note.
Let us relish a few of Jericho’s best funny moments that he has had over the years.
