Major announcement on SmackDown, big spoiler in the main event? - 3 last-minute changes Triple H could make to Money in the Bank
WWE has booked a promising card for Money in the Bank 2024. Fans are expecting an action-packed show with a few jaw-dropping surprises. Each of the storylines leading up to the show has been done well. However, Triple H could be secretly working on a few things that could be added as we move closer to the show.
Here, we look at four last-minute changes The Game could make to Money in the Bank in the days leading up to the show. So, without further ado, let's begin.
#1. No title match in the main event
If one of the Money in the Bank Ladder Matches doesn't headline the show, WWE could book the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event. The build-up to Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins has left room for a potential betrayal by The Judgment Day, which could transpire in the closing moments of the show. However, we may see Triple H push a non-title match at the end of the night instead.
The bout in question will see The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa) take on Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens in a six-man Tag Team Match. The Sikoa-run heel faction has unleashed new levels of monstrosity since the new Tribal Chief took over. They also have Jacob Fatu, who could turn the match in The Bloodline's favor.
But if this match headlines the show, it would be a huge hint at Roman Reigns' return. If not, we could also see Jimmy Uso make a surprise return as a face and help Cody against The Bloodline.
#2. Surprise entrant in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match
WWE has confirmed that the Men's and Women's Money in the Bank matches will see six superstars compete for the briefcases. However, one of them could see a last-minute addition announced on the show.
We may see big names like Alexa Bliss or Brock Lesnar make a shocking return at the Premium Live Event. Instead of attacking a champion, we could see either of them go after the guaranteed title opportunity by entering the ladder match.
#3. Championship defense in a Steel Cage Match
Bron Breakker will challenge Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at Money in the Bank. He got the title shot directly from the champion after he destroyed Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser in a brutal attack ringside on RAW this week. He was also seen complaining about people regularly interfering in his matches, and he warned Adam Pearce of the consequences if he didn't put an end to the same.
The RAW General Manager could give Breakker a surprise by having Sami Zayn defend his title inside the Steel Cage. This would prevent interference like Breakker wanted, at least on paper.
But the Steel Cage often sees someone find their way inside the monstrous structure. Either way, we may see a shocking return or a surprising title change, but it would certainly be a more memorable match, thanks to the Steel Cage.
#4. New title match confirmed on WWE SmackDown this week
WWE has confirmed two massive title matches for Money in the Bank. We could see another championship match being added to the show. Grayson Waller and Austin Theory have been involved in a feud with DIY on the blue brand over the last few weeks. The latter has also exposed the growing tension between A-Town Down Under, with Waller showing signs of turning on Theory.
We may see Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championship at Money in the Bank, and the match could be announced on SmackDown this week. They haven't defended their titles at a PLE since winning the tag team gold at WrestleMania.
It is worth noting that a potential title change in this match could lead to a split between the reigning champions. It will be interesting to see what Triple H has in store for Waller, Theory, and DIY on SmackDown.
