Major blow to Jeff Hardy's possible WWE return, TNA star injures Hardy (VIDEO)
Those who were looking forward to a Jeff Hardy return in 2016 could put their hopes down the drain, as the Charismatic Enigma would not be returning to his former company anytime soon.
Dixie Carter, the TNA President, announced that Hardy has signed a new deal with the company and would stay with them for the remainder of the year. His previous contract was set to expire in a few months, that gave rise to speculations of a WWE return.
All of those speculations, though, have been put to rest as the former WWE Champion would be an integral part of TNA in the time to come. This comes after the Wolves – widely regarded as one of the best tag teams in the business at the moment – signed an exclusive deal with Impact Wrestling.
Below is the tweet Dixie put out regarding the development:
Jeff Hardy has been involved in a storyline with his brother Matt Hardy – who turned heel and is the current TNA World Champion. At the recent tapings, Jeff Hardy suffered, what seems to be a storyline injury at the hands of Eric Young, whose piledriver onto the table may keep Hardy out for a few weeks.
Jeff was supposed to face his brother Matt with the title being on the line before Eric Young and Bram attacked Jeff before the match kicked off.
Hardy was loaded onto an ambulance and would be off TNA television for a month or two. It was reported a few months back, that Hardy was set to go under the knife for a surgery and it seems, he was written off TV for that very purpose.
Below are the videos from the tapings:
