Major change to top WWE faction, bad news for The Bloodline? - 4 directions for The Street Profits without Bobby Lashley
WWE has an abundance of stars. Popular superstars such as Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Gunther, Rhea Ripley, Kevin Owens, and others have been leading the charge in one of the hottest eras ever. Unfortunately, one star may be leaving the company.
Bobby Lashley may be leaving World Wrestling Entertainment. Information is still coming in, but according to reports, The All Mighty's contract with the sports entertainment juggernaut is set to expire in the coming weeks.
This is big news, but it may be even bigger for Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford. The Street Profits have been aligned with Bobby Lashley as The Pride for around a year now. The group never quite built the momentum some hoped for, but the faction has still been a major threat on SmackDown.
Now that The Street Profits are seemingly without Bobby moving forward, what will their career look like on Friday Night SmackDown? This article will look at a handful of possible directions for the former multi-time champions.
Below are four directions for The Street Profits in WWE without Bobby Lashley.
#4. They could bring in Odyssey Jones as the new powerhouse of The Pride
The Pride is a faction formed on WWE SmackDown last year. It all started with Bobby Lashley greeting The Street Profits and suggesting they change things up. In the end, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford listened and joined The All Mighty's side.
They weren't the only three to join the stable, however. B-Fab later joined the group and she remains with The Street Profits even in the former WWE Champion's absence. There were also rumors that Oddysey Jones could join the stable, but it has yet to happen.
That could change if Lashley is indeed leaving the promotion, however. With the powerhouse of the group potentially gone, Montez, Angelo, and B-Fab could recruit Jones and take the faction in a new direction.
#3. The Street Profits could challenge for the WWE Tag Team Title
DIY is one of the best tag teams in all of professional wrestling. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa first united on WWE NXT before splitting apart and feuding. Now, they are united on Friday Night SmackDown.
The duo of Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are in a good spot. The pair recently battled A-Town Down Under's Austin Theory and Grayson Waller and won the WWE Tag Team Title. They have since successfully defended the gold against the former champions.
Now that DIY needs new challengers, The Street Profits could step up. They've been key players in the tag team division for years now, so the two would be immediate threats to the champions. Who knows, Montez and Angelo could win the gold and prove they didn't need The All Mighty.
#2. Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford could split up
For a long time, many fans have believed that Montez Ford would be a breakout singles star in The Street Profits. Many WWE fans worried what Angelo Dawkins' future would look like when Ford inevitably goes solo.
That stance has changed in the last year or two, however. Angelo Dawkins has proved to be as good as almost anybody in the ring and he can cut a promo. His size and athleticism are also quite impressive, which means both men should excel when they go solo. Now, the time may have come for exactly that.
Without Bobby Lashley, WWE may decide to pull the trigger and split the pair up. This could mean a feud where one betrays the other or simply a case where both men agree to remain friends but still pursue singles opportunities.
#1. They could unite with Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline
The Bloodline currently rules WWE SmackDown. The current incarnation of the group sees Solo Sikoa as the leader and Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa as the remaining members of the dangerous faction.
The stable is currently feuding with Cody Rhodes. In doing so, they have taken out Randy Orton and Kevin Owens in a very physical manner. This is presumably to make sure that neither man can help The American Nightmare when he defends his Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam.
The Street Profits are no strangers to The Bloodline and they could renew their rivalry with the stable by siding with Cody Rhodes. This could be bad news for the dangerous faction, as The Street Profits could likely take out Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. From there, Cody would only need help dealing with Jacob Fatu.
