Major match teased, collapse of The Bloodline? - 4 blockbuster feuds for The Rock when he returns to WWE
WWE has had some massive returns in the past year or so. Superstars such as CM Punk, Carlito, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, Andrade, and others have made their way back to the Sports Entertainment juggernaut after spending years away.
Perhaps the biggest return to World Wrestling Entertainment was The Rock. The People's Champion joined the TKO board and then went on to return to television. This led to one of the most interesting build-ups of WrestleMania in history.
The Rock competed at WrestleMania XL but unfortunately had to take some time off to focus on his Hollywood career. Despite that, The Final Boss has made it clear he will return. When he does, the big question becomes what will he do?
There are numerous dream matches for The People's Champion and several stories are ready-made for him. This article will look at a few major feuds he could have upon returning to television.
Below are four blockbuster feuds for The Rock when he returns to WWE.
#4. A Roman Reigns feud feels inevitable following the collapse of The Bloodline
Roman Reigns is everything a pro wrestler should strive to be. He is charismatic, in great shape, a confident speaker on the microphone, and can deliver in the ring. In many ways, the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion is everything a promoter could want in a talent.
When The Rock returns, he and Roman Reigns feuding would make a lot of sense. They are cousins, extremely popular, and wanted to battle at WrestleMania XL before fan reaction led WWE into a different direction. Now may be the time to act on the feud.
The entire feud could center around the collapse of The Bloodline in the wake of both men disappearing from television. The Rock could blame Roman and claim he is weak, while The Tribal Chief will stand up to his bully cousin.
#3. The Rock has already teased an Undisputed WWE Championship match with Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes is the current Undisputed WWE Champion and on top of World Wrestling Entertainment. He won the title by defeating Roman Reigns but has managed to overcome Logan Paul and AJ Styles in the months since then.
The Rock and The American Nightmare are far from strangers to one another. In the lead-up to WrestleMania 40, many WWE fans believed the true feud was between Rhodes and The Final Boss. The Rock even picked up a pinfall victory over Cody during WrestleMania Saturday.
Before The Final Boss went on a hiatus, he made it clear that the story between himself and Rhodes was not yet finished. As a result, the two clashing over the world title when The Rock returns makes all of the sense in the world. Cody overcoming The People's Champion would be huge for his legacy too.
#2. CM Punk and The Rock could renew old hostilities
CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023. The Second City Saint had been away from the company for almost a decade before that and the relationship between Punk and the Stamford-based promotion is seemingly the best they have ever been.
Much like Cody Rhodes, Punk is no stranger to stepping into the ring with The Rock. The former WWE Champions had two massive matches together back in 2013 at both the Royal Rumble and the Elimination Chamber.
Punk lost both of those matches and he would undoubtedly want to get a win back on The Final Boss. A feud with a babyface CM Punk and a heel version of The Rock would also make for a completely different experience than their previous rivalry. The promo exchanges would also be a must-see.
#1. Seth Rollins and The Rock could make for a great match
Seth Rollins is set for a massive match at WWE Money in the Bank 2024. He returned after a few months away and hopes to win the World Heavyweight Championship back when he fights Damian Priest for the gold. Still, he has done a lot this year that should be memorable to fans, yet what he has done is often ignored. Case in point: WrestleMania XL.
The forgotten man in the build-up to The Show of Shows is Seth Rollins. He was Cody Rhodes' partner in the WrestleMania Saturday tag team main event, yet he has rarely mentioned when looking back at the story. In fact, while he lost to The Rock and Roman Reigns like Rhodes, The Visionary was not pinned.
Not only that, but Seth went into the match injured. He would surely want to prove himself against The Final Boss if both men were healthy. Rollins may get both of those things when The Rock returns to the Stamford-based promotion.
