Major split within The Judgment Day, shock upset? - 4 possible finishes to Gunther vs. Finn Balor on WWE RAW next week
WWE RAW was a big show this past Monday. Several SummerSlam rivalries were continued, and a handful of matches were confirmed for the big event, including CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre and Bron Breakker vs. Sami Zayn.
World Wrestling Entertainment officials and Triple H aren't just randomly booking for the premium live event. The Game has also set up a few big-time matches and segments for next week's edition of the red brand.
The most exciting match booked is arguably a bout between The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and the 2024 King of the Ring winner Gunther. This bout is a dream match for many fans, and there is a lot of excitement over the announcement.
However, the match announcement does lead to several questions. Who will win when the two men clash on Monday Night RAW? Additionally, how exactly might the bout end? This article will take a look at a handful of possible finishes for the impending singles match.
Below are four possible finishes to Gunther vs. Finn Balor on WWE RAW next week.
#4. Gunther could win cleanly
Gunther is one of the most impressive and dominant superstars in WWE. The Ring General dominates all of his foes when he gets in the ring, which was proven by the Austrian becoming the 2024 King of the Ring recently.
Since joining WWE, he has held two major championships. The first was the United Kingdom Championship on the NXT UK brand. His second title win was the Intercontinental Championship on the main roster. Both reigns were the longest-ever in both belts' lineages.
While Gunther did cheat on occasions, most of his victories were won somewhat fairly. This is because The Ring General is that impressive in the ring. As a result, when he goes one-on-one with Finn Balor, Gunther may dominate and win cleanly. A powerbomb, for example, could spell the end for The Prince.
#3. Finn Balor could shockingly defeat The Ring General by pinfall
Finn Balor is no slouch himself. He is a long-time veteran of the pro wrestling industry. He broke in through the Ireland wrestling scene and expanded throughout Europe and the United Kingdom before taking over Japan.
Fast forward to joining WWE, and Finn has found a lot of success here too. He is a former Universal Champion, NXT Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and United States Champion. Finn is also one-half of the World Tag Team Champions alongside JD McDonagh.
He is incredibly talented, but many fans still don't believe he can defeat Gunther. This may be where Triple H and WWE shock the audience. Finn Balor may hit the double stomp on Gunther and win the match. In turn, this could dramatically shake up the road to SummerSlam. Could Finn join the title match if he beats The Ring General?
#2. The Judgment Day could jump Gunther and cause a disqualification
Finn Balor is a member of one of the most dominant and successful factions in modern WWE history. The Judgment Day is the stable, and the group features himself, JD McDonagh, Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, and Dominik Mysterio. Carlito is there too, but he hasn't officially been inducted into the group yet.
While the group has its ups and downs, ultimately, they have stuck by each other through thick and thin. More often than not, The Judgment Day has helped other members win WWE tag team gold.
Gunther vs. Finn Balor isn't a championship match, so the stakes are different. Instead of Carlito, JD, Rhea, Damian, and Dominik helping Finn win, they could instead jump The Ring General. This would cause a disqualification finish, but it would give Damian a leg up for his impending title opportunity at SummerSlam.
#1. Damian Priest could accidentally cost Finn the win on WWE RAW
The Judgment Day acts as a family, and it has done well for the group, but things have been looking off recently. For starters, there is the drama between Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, and Liv Morgan taking over WWE.
That isn't it, however. Finn Balor and Damian Priest are regularly at each other's throats. It seems as if, either intentionally or by accident, something keeps happening to further drive a wedge between the two WWE champions.
This theme could continue on RAW. Damian, who is seemingly becoming a full-on babyface, may try to support his friend and Judgment Day "family" member. In doing so, he could accidentally cost Finn the victory in some way.
A distraction or an errant blow could lead to Gunther picking up a quick win and thus causing more issues within the stable. This shocking end might eventually lead to a split between Balor and Priest.
