Major WWE streak comes to an end, disappointing errors - 4 mistakes that were made at Money in the Bank

Money in the Bank is now in the rearview mirror. While many WWE fans will be anticipating what this means for SummerSlam next month, there are a number of mistakes that were made last night that meant that it was a less than memorable event.

Only the Women's Money in the Bank contract remains active and there were no new champions crowned, despite Triple H claiming that the landscape of WWE would be changed following last night's events.

The following list looks at four of the biggest mistakes that were made at the 2024 Money in the Bank event.

#4. Lack of surprises/interference

Triple H claimed that the landscape of WWE would be changed after Money in the Bank, which hyped up the show and meant that many fans were expecting interference from a number of different sources.

The likes of Trish Stratus, AJ Lee, and even Ricochet were speculated to be stars who could interefere in matches at Money in the Bank and the fact that the traditional matches allowed interference, it felt like this was a missed opportunity.

Wyatt Sicks didn't have a place on the card either, even though there were a number of places where they could have gotten involved and taken a star out and decided on their own winner.

#3. Money in the Bank contract was wasted

The Money In the Bank contract this year for the men's has already been cashed in and Drew McIntyre failed because of interference from CM Punk. The WWE Universe was obviously annoyed that the contract was handed to the only former WWE Champion in the match and he then failed to cash it in just minutes later because of CM Punk.

This could have been avoided if Punk interfered in the ladder match instead and cost Drew the contract, which would then have allowed one of the up-and-coming stars in the match to take the briefcase this year.

#2. Disappointing ending

Solo Sikoa pinned Cody Rhodes to set up a major title match as part of last night's main event but it was a clean finish and there was no interference. Fans expected several names to be included in the match, much like Jimmy Uso or even Roman Reigns, given the assault that Paul Heyman endured last month.

There was no brawl or interference after the match ended either, which meant that the show just went off the air without incident and The Bloodline were able to walk away unscathed after their actions.

#1. Bron Breakker's WWE streak comes to an end

One of the biggest shocks of the night was when Bron Breakker was defeated by Sami Zayn and his nine-month streak came to an end. Breakker hasn't been pinned in a singles match since October in NXT and there was a belief that he would either win the match and the title, or someone would cost him rather than the clean finish that saw Sami Zayn overcome Bron.

It's unclear what this means for Bron Breakker on WWE RAW after he has been pushed as an unstoppable force since his promotion to the red brand.
