Major WWE Superstar's wife to return on SmackDown to challenge Nia Jax? Exploring potential swerve

Nia Jax has been dominating as Women's Champion on WWE SmackDown but is currently in the middle of an interesting storyline with Tiffany Stratton.

Bayley lost her WWE Women's Championship to Nia Jax at SummerSlam and has only recently made her return to SmackDown following the loss. There has been no rematch set up, but with SmackDown's premiere on the USA Network taking place next week and WWE reportedly set to have major plans, they could include the return of former women's champion Mickie James.

The six-time women's champion (Women's and Divas) has been looking for a way to equal Trish Stratus' record of seven Women's Championship reigns, which has stood for several years. And a shot at the WWE Women's Championship could be enough to draw her back.

James and her husband, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, have been teasing the return of the former champion for several weeks and it could finally be time on the debut episode on USA.

Mickie James is one of WWE's most iconic and respected former stars and would be welcomed back by the wrestling universe.

WWE SmackDown's switchover episode is expected to be huge

Next week's episode of SmackDown will be its first on the USA Network and is expected to be huge. There are already plans for Solo Sikoa to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship inside a steel cage, whilst Kevin Owens needs to find a mystery opponent to take on A-Town Down Under.

Andrade and Carmelo Hayes will also collide for the fifth time in recent weeks with the winner being handed a shot at LA Knight and his United States Championship.

Roman Reigns was originally advertised for this episode of SmackDown before the listing was removed so there is a chance that he once again returns to cost Solo Sikoa the title and in turn sets up a match against Sikoa.
