Massive repercussions; Upping the stakes - 4 directions for CM Punk and Drew McIntyre following WWE RAW
Drew McIntyre may have defeated CM Punk at SummerSlam, but things certainly aren't over between the two RAW stars. McIntyre tried to gloat in his victory but Punk still fumed that The Scottish Warrior had his prized bracelet.
The heated nature of the feud necessitates several bouts, making the match at SummerSlam the first of three. After brandishing his belt to blindside McIntyre this week, it's easy to see where the feud is headed.
With Bash in Berlin at the end of August, the ongoing feud between McIntyre and CM Punk may fork into one of the next four directions following the latest RAW.
#4. McIntyre rampages when Punk doesn't appear
McIntyre confidently strutted out to the ring during the latest RAW because he heard CM Punk's flight was delayed. It turned out to be a ruse as Punk attacked his enemy from behind while he was cutting a promo.
The Voice of the Voiceless later told Cathy Kelley that he simply lied to fool The Scottish Warrior. Since Punk got the last laugh this week, McIntyre's next move is predictable - he'll go nuts next week.
Punk got another one over on him, and McIntyre came out looking foolish. Adam Pearce will probably have to stop the former WWE Champ from going on a rampage through the building and/or RAW roster.
#3. They have a pull-apart brawl on RAW
Things have been chaotic lately on RAW, and that's being nice. Security has had to intervene at some point in nearly every feud on the show, including with Punk and McIntyre.
With all the chaos permeating the show, it'll be hard to keep everything contained. The Judgment Day is battling Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest. Bronson Reed cannot be controlled. The Final Testament and the New Day keep fighting each other.
If both stars appear on next week's show, they'll need to be separated. Punk will probably cut an in-ring promo, causing a fuming McIntyre to retaliate. That will give WWE producers Kenny Doane, Shawn Daivari, Jason Jordan, and Petey Williams more screen time.
#2. Adam Pearce has a meeting or in-ring segment
With so much going off the rails each week on RAW, Adam Pearce may have to take matters into his own hands. He is the GM, and sometimes, executive orders must be passed down to maintain order.
Instead of standing in the ring for a contract signing, Pearce should demand that both Punk and McIntyre come to the ring for an important meeting. To maintain order during the segment, he can be flanked by security and/or police.
Pearce could force The Best in the World and The Scottish Warrior to sign paperwork to prevent the two stars from going even further over the edge. That paperwork could state that either man could be terminated or suspended if they attack each other or disrupt the show.
#1. CM Punk officially challenges Drew McIntyre to a strap match
Punk alluded to this heavily during a backstage interview. He brandished his belt to whip McIntyre and mentioned that he had the perfect solution to solve the problem. This suggests that a strap match could be in the works for Bash in Berlin.
An in-ring promo can lay out the challenge, but Adam Pearce will have to step in to make sure they don't take over the show. SummerSlam lacked contests with stipulations except for the Bloodline Rules main event. Booking a potential strap match would be a good change of pace.
If every match follows the same standard pattern, it won't offer variety for the WWE Universe. The next showdown between Punk and McIntyre also requires a big stipulation due to the heated nature of their feud.
