Match called off, new champion, and more - 4 possible finishes for Bayley vs. Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton at WWE Backlash
Backlash France is World Wrestling Entertainment's next big premium live event. The show will air on Saturday, May 4, 2024, beginning far earlier in the day for most fans courtesy of where the event is being held. As the title suggests, the show will be held in France. More specifically, Lyon.
The big show will host around 13,000 fans according to WrestleTix on social media and several big matches have already been confirmed. Three world title matches are booked for the show featuring Cody Rhodes, AJ Styles, Damian Priest, Jey Uso, Bayley, Naomi, and Tiffany Stratton.
The latter three are set to clash for Bayley's Women's Championship following the events that transpired on the latest episode of SmackDown. Tiffany Stratton and Naomi went one-on-one during the show, but the match was interrupted by Nia Jax, who had just been drafted to SmackDown.
As a result of the interference, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis did what he felt was fair. He announced a Triple Threat Match involving the three women at Backlash France. This article will take a look at a handful of ways the match may end.
Below are four possible finishes for Bayley vs. Naomi vs. Tiffany Stratton at WWE Backlash 2024.
#4. Bayley could successfully retain her WWE Women's Championship
Bayley is an incredibly decorated WWE performer. Her history speaks for itself. When it comes to accomplishments for female stars, very few can match her. The Role Model is a multi-time world champion, a former NXT Women's Champion, and a multi-time Women's Tag Team Champion.
The Role Model is currently the WWE Women's Champion. She won the title after earning a championship opportunity by winning the 2024 Women's Royal Rumble Match. She then defeated IYO SKY at WrestleMania XL to win the belt.
Given her immense skill and history of success, there is a very real chance that Bayley will win the Triple Threat Match at Backlash France cleanly. She might hit Tiffany Stratton with the Rose Plant DDT or a Diving Elbow Drop to pick up the pinfall victory.
#3. Naomi could pin Tiffany Stratton to win gold
Naomi is also a performer with a decent stature in WWE. The 36-year-old star once held the Women's Tag Team Championship alongside Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, before infamously walking out of the company in 2022. She is also a former SmackDown Women's Champion.
The Glow returned to WWE at the 2024 Women's Royal Rumble Match. Since then, she has been featured at Elimination Chamber: Perth, WrestleMania XL and now Backlash France. Needless to say, she is having a great run.
With her momentum building, Naomi could end up winning the Women's Championship in Lyon, France. Given her issues with Tiffany Stratton, the perfect level of revenge is to hit her finisher on Stratton and pin The Buff Barbie in the center of the ring. This could then lead to a proper Bayley-Naomi singles match at the next premium live event.
#2. Stratton could take advantage and pick up a huge victory
Tiffany Stratton is one of the most annoying superstars in WWE if one were to ask the talent. She is unbelievably cocky and the way she talks down to every performer and staff member is downright shocking behavior.
Despite that, she is incredibly talented. Few can deliver quite like Tiffany in the ring. Even if she is outmatched in some way, Stratton is smart enough to devise a scheme to pick up a victory. She is sneaky and that has helped her out on more than one occasion.
That demeanor may pay off at WWE Backlash France. There is a chance that Naomi or Bayley will hit their finishing move on each other. From there, Tiffany could toss the person out of the ring and steal the pinfall and the Women's Championship. It would be underhanded, but it would also win her the gold.
#1. Nia Jax could disrupt the match and cause it to get called off
Nia Jax is another decorated performer. While she never held gold on NXT, Nia managed to win the RAW Women's Championship and the Women's Tag Team Championship. She was once released by the Stamford-based company but made her return last year.
The powerful Jax was drafted to Friday Night SmackDown at the 2024 WWE Draft and she made an immediate impact. The former RAW Women's Champion jumped Bayley and then proceeded to lay out Naomi.
The same could happen at Backlash France. This time, Nia could interrupt the match and lay out all three talented women. This would force the referee to stop the bout and thus rule it as a No Contest. From there, Nia could stake her claim to be the next challenger for Bayley's coveted title.
