Matt Riddle reveals one thing Vince McMahon refused to let Randy Orton do in WWE

Matt Riddle and Randy Orton formed the popular RK-Bro tag team in WWE in 2021. In a recent interview, Riddle recalled how he and Orton wanted a spectacular entrance at a show in Saudi Arabia.

In October 2021, RK-Bro defeated AJ Styles and Omos at Crown Jewel to retain the RAW Tag Team Championship. Both men were keen to ride camels to the ring when the idea was mentioned by WWE's higher-ups. However, only Riddle was allowed.

On Developmentally Speaking, Riddle explained why former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon instructed Orton to walk beside Riddle instead:

"I remember when we were in Saudi and I rode the camel and Randy was like, 'I wanna ride a camel,' and I was like, 'Yeah, Randy! Get Randy on a camel.' And then Vince was like, 'No,' and Randy's like, 'Why not?' He's like, 'Because your character wouldn't ride a camel.' What a simple answer, you know?" [From 26:02 – 26:24]

Riddle also revealed how McMahon reacted after he forgot his lines during a backstage segment with Asuka in March 2021.

Matt Riddle on Triple H and Vince McMahon's regimes

Between October 2018 and May 2020, Matt Riddle wrestled in NXT when Triple H oversaw the brand's creative direction. The 38-year-old later performed under The Game's leadership on the main roster between July 2022 and September 2023. He also wrestled on Vince McMahon's main roster shows from June 2020 to July 2022.

Having worked under both creative figureheads, Riddle only has good things to say about how he was booked during his five-year WWE run:

"I enjoyed working under both them. I loved working for NXT, WWE. I love pro wrestling, you know? I wish it didn't hurt as much and we didn't get beat up as much, but that's kind of part of the fun, and I love it." [26:27 – 26:40]

In the same interview, Riddle discussed the possibility of returning to WWE to continue his storyline with Randy Orton.
