Megastar in the Bank? - Ranking the chances of the participants in the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match
With only six participants in this year's Money in the Bank matches, qualifying for the match was more important than ever. Jey Uso, LA Knight, Andrade, Carmelo Hayes, Chad Gable, and Drew McIntyre will compete to be the 2024 Mr. Money in the Bank.
Damian Priest won last year's contest after pushing Knight off of the ladder in London. A year later, Priest successfully cashed his contract in to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Who will follow in his footsteps? The participants have varying chances of success. The 2024 competitors will be ranked in order of the star with the lowest odds of winning to the one with the highest odds of winning the Money in the Bank briefcase.
#6. Andrade has been in past Money in the Bank matches
Andrade's return to WWE at the Royal Rumble was a great moment. The problem with it, however, has been consistently following up with it. He was involved with the Rey Mysterio/Dominik Mysterio drama on the way to WrestleMania 40.
Since then, El Idolo has been used sporadically. He wasn't part of the King of the Ring tournament but was involved in the Money in the Bank qualifiers. Andrade's in-ring work has always been top notch but he's been an outlier on SmackDown since the 2024 WWE Draft.
With little to sink his teeth into after The Show of Shows, Andrade winning would be nice but random. Other participants have been involved in angles on both RAW and SmackDown.
#5. Carmelo Hayes could sneak out of Toronto with the contract
Carmelo Hayes is in the same situation as Bron Breakker but Breakker hasn't been included in either King of the Ring or the Money in the Bank qualifiers.
He's proven he can hang with the top stars like Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton but it's way too soon for Hayes to be winning Money in the Bank. He's only ranked above Andrade due to usage in title situations.
It would be a shock if the former NXT Champion was Mr. Money in the Bank. Hayes has many good years ahead of him and will likely win a briefcase in the future.
#4. Chad Gable has been targeted by the Wyatt Sicks
Chad Gable hasn't been able to win the Intercontinental Championship. Could his fortunes turn around by winning Money in the Bank?
The leader of Alpha Academy has been one of WWE's most underrated performers for years. He's been utilized in RAW's second-biggest angle, so he's not being misused under Triple H. The fact that the Wyatt Sicks singled out Master Gable for his mistreatment of his friends keeps him in the spotlight.
Every star won't win a title and with his pursuits of the Intercontinental Championship, the timing wasn't right. Zayn had dethroned the dominant Gunther and losing the belt so soon after doing so would have lessened the moment.
#3. LA Knight was a favorite to win last year
As Jey Uso has been gunning for gold on RAW, LA Knight has been doing the same on SmackDown. Jey has had more chances at various titles whereas Knight had two shots at the Undisputed WWE title.
Since he seems destined for a US title match with Logan Paul at SummerSlam, The Megastar's chances of winning this year are lower than last year. Fans would love a Knight win but he already has a determined path after Money in the Bank.
Paul will likely cost Knight a chance at winning the case after he defeated Paul and Santos Escobar in a qualifying match.
#2. Fans want a huge win for Main Event Jey Uso
Jey Uso was the first person to qualify for the 2024 Men's Money in the Bank ladder match. He's on the poster for the event, which could mean two things. The first is that his inclusion was done to sell tickets and tease a potential win.
The second reason is that it was to misdirect fans from the planned winner. It would be too predictable for the person on the poster to capture the case. WWE is more clever than revealing the winner before the event is even on the horizon.
While LA Knight has a built-in angle going around Money in the Bank, Jey Uso does not. He's endured many emotional losses over the last year but has maintained his popularity. It could be his moment in Toronto.
#1. Drew McIntyre was the last person to qualify
The Scottish Warrior has been in the World Heavyweight title picture for almost a year. He faced Seth Rollins last fall before earning another shot at The Visionary at WrestleMania 40.
McIntyre successfully defeated Rollins but fell victim to Damian Priest and Money in the Bank just five minutes later. His ongoing feud with CM Punk could cost him in the ladder match, but McIntyre has great odds of winning this year's contest.
If he does capture the Money in the Bank case, Punk would likely play defense every time he tries to cash in. McIntyre did say he'd leave Toronto as World Heavyweight Champion, heavily teasing that he'd cash in on the same night.
