Mocking the champ, a nod to a Legend - 4 Things that can happen during Joe Hendry's debut concert for WWE NXT

NXT fans were treated to a huge surprise when it was announced that Joe Hendry would perform one of his signature concerts on the first night of the Great American Bash. It will take place next week.

Hendry's concerts have been great TV as he often incorporates popular songs with lyrics mocking his opponents. He crafted anthems when feuding with Moose, Brian Myers, and, more recently, AJ Francis.

With the summer and the relationship between TNA and NXT heating up, much will be happening over the next month. The following four things could happen during Joe Hendry's debut concert on next week's episode of NXT.

#4. He borrows from HBK's past

Joe Hendry stormed backstage to inform NXT head honcho Shawn Michaels that he could show up at any time and anywhere as long as someone said his name. That's been true to form, as Hendry has popped up a few times since his early exit in a #1 Contender's battle royal.

The Prestigious One tagged with Trick Williams against Shawn Spears and Ethan Page. He then joined commentary last week before announcing his concert for the first night of the Great American Bash this week.

Hendry utilized Creed's "Higher" to mock AJ Francis so he could compose a song based on HBK's "Sexy Boy" theme. It would tie his confrontations with the GM into a potential shot at a target.

#3. Joe Hendry targets a rivalry born at Slammiversary

Joe Hendry was one of six stars who had a chance to leave Slammiversary as the TNA Heavyweight Champion. Moose entered with the title but was eliminated by Hendry. It was a shocking moment that guaranteed a new champ.

Josh Alexander battled Hendry but turned heel during their encounter. The former TNA Champ hit the former Digitial Media Champ with a low blow before eliminating him from the match.

Hendry could mock how he eliminated the previous titleholder from the match. Alexander should be the main target since he resorted to underhanded tactics to advance. Hendry could mock Alexander's mic skills or headgear.

#2. Someone attacks him during the concert

One thing will be apparent during Hendry's song at the Great American Bash - someone will be angry with the lyrics. It's the sole purpose of his concerts, so insulting another wrestler could lead to physicality.

Gallus has been upset with interlopers invading NXT, so they would be the most likely stars to interfere. They consider him a fake Scotsman since he became famous via social media and grassroots efforts.

If Gallus doesn't attack him, Shawn Spears and Brooks Jensen could. Hendry pinned Spears when he partnered with Trick Williams. Spears recently aligned with Brooks Jensen so that it could lead to another tag team bout.

As mentioned several times, Joe Hendry and Trick Williams defeated Ethan Page and Shawn Spears in tag team action. When a Champion loses or is pinned, it always leads to a future title match. That's why Solo Sikoa has a shot at SummerSlam.

Due to his overwhelming popularity, Hendry's NXT appearances must lead to an NXT Title shot. A title match may also be part of the reason why Hendry did not leave Slammiversary as TNA Champ.

There's been a running joke of Ethan Page being pinned by Oro Mensah in unofficial matches. Hendry could frame a song around this, leading to a potential showdown with All Ego. It could also tie in with his TNA feud with Josh Alexander, Page's former tag team partner in the North.
