Mystery attackers; major brand change? - 4 directions for #DIY on WWE SmackDown following shock heel turn

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa turned heel this past Friday night on WWE SmackDown. Their plan worked out to perfection, as they were able to capture the WWE Tag Team Championship from the Motor City Machine Guns.

Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were seemingly heading toward a breakup as a tag team, but it was a ruse. The popular duo turned heel on SmackDown, and Gargano hit a low blow to help them capture the titles.

Listed below are four directions for DIY following their heel turn on SmackDown.

#4. #DIY could have a rivalry with Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE Tag Team Championship

#DIY used underhanded tactics to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. Tommaso Ciampa attempted to grab a steel chair during the match and distracted the referee. This allowed Johnny Gargano to hit a low blow and the duo capitalized to capture the titles from Motor City Machine Guns this past Friday night on SmackDown.

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are likely out for revenge. The former champions may decide to attack #DIY on the upcoming edition of SmackDown and begin a heated rivalry with the champions.

#3. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano could be revealed as the stars who attacked The Street Profits

Tommaso Ciampa interfered in The Street Profits' title match against The Motor City Machine Guns on the November 15 edition of WWE SmackDown. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were supposed to battle for the titles this past Friday night but were attacked backstage before their scheduled match.

#DIY could be revealed as the stars that attacked Ford and Dawkins in the weeks ahead. The Street Profits may demand that SmackDown GM Nick Aldis book them in a title match against Ciampa and Gargano, as he allowed them to take their place in the bout against Motor City Machine Guns on the blue brand.

#2. The popular duo could transfer to WWE RAW

The promotion has introduced the transfer window ahead of the WWE Draft. Stars can now transfer from RAW to SmackDown, and #DIY may take the opportunity to jump to the red brand.

Dominik Mysterio was spotted having a conversation with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis this past Friday. Dirty Dom may have been asking about The Judgment Day coming to SmackDown during the transfer window. Finn Balor and JD McDonagh are currently the reigning World Tag Team Champions, and if they move to the blue brand, Ciampa and Gargano could use the transfer window to escape from the Friday night show and could be sent to RAW.

#1. Ciampa and Gargano could form a faction on SmackDown

Johnny Gargano is married to Candice LeRae in real life, and she was spotted celebrating with the champions after their title victory on SmackDown. Gargano and LeRae used to be in The Way faction in NXT alongside Indi Hartwell, Austin Theory, and Dexter Lumis. Hartwell was released by the company last month, and Lumis is currently a member of The Wyatt Sicks.

Austin Theory is in a tag team with Grayson Waller known as A-Town Down Under, but the duo has not been featured on WWE television recently, and there have been teases of them going their separate ways. The company could use this opportunity to form a faction with #DIY alongside LeRae and Theory on SmackDown in the weeks ahead.
