Newest member of the Bloodline; released star to finally return? 4 new Superstars Nick Aldis may sign to WWE SmackDown this week

Last week's episode of WWE SmackDown featured an interesting segment. General Manager Nick Aldis was seen talking to Monday Night RAW's Gunther. Then Carmelo Hayes showed up and stirred the pot.

Hayes accused Aldis of neglecting him and then went on to threaten a potential move to RAW as part of the newly instituted Transfer Window. Aldis wasn't fazed by this, joking that The A-Champion moving to the red brand would be a headache for Adam Pearce and Co., and it would be more of a gift than a curse for SmackDown.

From there, Aldis revealed major news. Carmelo will go one-on-one with a mystery opponent this Friday. As if that wasn't enough, it was later revealed through a YouTube video that Melo's opponent would be someone "new."

It isn't clear if this means someone new to World Wrestling Entertainment, the main roster, or simply SmackDown. This article will take a look at a handful of stars who can potentially lock horns with Carmelo this Friday.

Below are four new stars Nick Aldis may sign to WWE SmackDown this week:

#4. Hikuleo could represent the New Bloodline

The New Bloodline is in a tough spot right now. The stable and "Big" Bronson Reed lost to the OG Bloodline and CM Punk at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. Additionally, Reed and Tonga Loa are both injured and will be out of action for the foreseeable future.

Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga still made a splash on WWE SmackDown last Friday, but the group is far from full strength. However, this could change soon, as Hikuleo could make his debut this Friday, representing the faction.

Hikuleo is the younger brother of Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa. The six-foot-eight-inch giant, who reportedly signed with WWE earlier this year, could be the mystery man facing Melo while also representing the New Bloodline.

Decimating Carmelo would help him make an immediate impact. From there, the rest of SmackDown would be put on notice.

#3. Penta El Zero Miedo could make his WWE debut

Penta El Zero Miedo is one of the top free agents in the world. He found a lot of success in Mexico before joining United States-based promotions, such as Lucha Underground, TNA Wrestling, and All Elite Wrestling.

While best known for his tag team work alongside his brother, Rey Fenix, Penta is now flying solo, thanks to AEW CEO Tony Khan adding injury time to Miedo's brother's contract. After rumors of both men being WWE-bound, Penta may debut solo.

If that is indeed the case, appearing on Friday Night SmackDown this week may be the perfect way to debut. Carmelo is an incredible wrestler, and the two would put on an immediate banger. To many fans, this would be a dream match finally realized. Of course, it all depends on whether Penta is actually joining the Sports Entertainment juggernaut.

#2. Ethan Page could be called up from NXT

Ethan Page has had a long journey on his way to WWE. He wrestled in various indies and for promotions such as Ring of Honor, TNA Wrestling, and AEW before finally joining NXT earlier this year. Page then found immediate success by becoming the NXT Champion.

Unfortunately, All Ego has hit a run of bad luck lately. He lost the NXT Championship to Trick Williams on WWE's debut show on The CW. From there, he lost in a rematch and then failed to win the Iron Survivor Challenge. He even lost to North American Champion Tony D'Angelo last night.

Page has expressed his frustration, but could it all be a clever ruse? Instead of Ethan being down, he may be hiding the fact that he is Nick Aldis' mystery man for Friday Night SmackDown. If that is the case, his ego will be bigger than ever before.

#1. Dijak could make a stunning return

Dijak is an athletic marvel. In many ways, he doesn't make a lot of sense. He is taller than most wrestlers in the industry today, but also shockingly agile. When it comes to in-ring work, few measure up to the former T-BAR.

Sadly, the big man was released by WWE earlier this year. Many fans have called the move a mistake, and there is a chance Triple H and Nick Aldis have heard the complaints and may have reached out to the athletic performer.

If they have, Dijak may make his return on Friday Night SmackDown this week. Outside of a few Battle Royal appearances, the 37-year-old has never been on the blue brand, so he'd still fit the criteria of someone new to the show. Can Dijak force everyone to "feast your eyes?"
