1 of 2 WWE legends will probably return at SummerSlam if one thing happens, says ex-host

Cody Rhodes is feuding with Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown. A former WWE host now believes one of two massive superstars would return at SummerSlam if The American Nightmare and the self-proclaimed new Tribal Chief main-evented the premium live event.

The former host in question is Matt Camp. He addressed the potential square-off between Rhodes and Sikoa on his The Wrestling Matt podcast. While the match is yet to become official, The American Nightmare informed the new Bloodline leader that he is willing to fight him at The Biggest Party of the Summer last Friday on SmackDown. The Undisputed WWE Champion was then viciously attacked by the faction.

While addressing the potential match's place on the SummerSlam card, Camp claimed it being the main event would mean there is a chance to see Reigns or The Rock return:

"I will come back to the thought that that match has a main event slot because of the chance you're hearing from Roman Reigns. If Roman or Rock come back at SummerSlam, that match is the main event of SummerSlam. You can't follow that. You can't put that somewhere random on the card. You can't put it first. You can't put in the middle. You can't put it semi-main," he said.

The former RAW Talk host pointed out that when the SummerSlam card gets announced, it would indicate whether a Reigns or Rock comeback is on the table:

"If Roman or Rock show up at SummerSlam, that match is the main event. So, when we get to SummerSlam, and if we are waiting on Cody and Solo, if it's anywhere else on the card, I would be baffled to see Roman or Rock come back. If it's the main event, absolutely it's on the table and that might be the reason it's the main event." [30:42 - 31:43]

Could Cody Rhodes lose the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam?

An Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam could become official this Friday on SmackDown. Former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. believes The American Nightmare could drop the title to the new leader of The Bloodline before recapturing it shortly after.

The 48-year-old clarified on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast that that scenario could happen only if Roman Reigns is not returning for a few more months:

"I think Cody has a chance to lose the title, but he'll get it back quickly the way Randy and John went back and forth with one another. That's the only way I see this story working without Roman Reigns coming back sooner rather than later to stop all of Solo's plans and say, 'No, no, no, no, no, I'm The Tribal Chief. You are not The Tribal Chief.' Cody's gonna have a different story, and we're gonna focus on this Bloodline story here, and there'll be other challengers for Cody Rhodes to face," he said.
