"1000% a course correction" - WWE called out for forcefully retconning major mistake during Wyatt Sicks' RAW debut by 36-year-old star
A 36-year-old star recently called out WWE for making a huge mistake during The Wyatt Sicks' debut on Monday Night RAW. The star being referred to is Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English)
On the June 17, 2024, episode of the red brand, The Wyatt Sicks consisting of Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas), Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan, and Dexter Lumis, made their official debut. During the segment, the fearsome stable took out several people backstage including Chad Gable. The Alpha Academy leader was shown bleeding from his forehead.
Following this, WWE announced that Gable would not be participating in his scheduled Money in the Bank qualifier match, this caught fans' attention, and they started claiming that the 38-year-old "died" in the storyline. However, the Stamford-based promotion later revealed that The Alpha Academy member was cleared to compete and he returned to television.
During a recent edition of the REBOOKED Wrestling Podcast, former WWE star Matthew Rehwoldt said that everyone thought Chad Gable was shot in the head because of the way the wound on his head was shown.
"So we all talked about it and the world seemed to agree that the only conclusion you could draw from that Wyatt Sicks attack was that he was shot in the head because of the, you know, the makeup that was a singular wound with blood dripping down it."
Matthew Rehwoldt added that the Triple H-led company had to correct their mistake after people started talking on social media about Gable's "murder."
"But they acknowledged it, they said, 'Oh due to the attack, he's out of the match.' Then I think the murder talk got a little too wild and they said, 'Oh never mind thank God he's clear, he's able to compete in his match on Monday,' which I think is 1000% a course correction on their part. I think you needed to make him up a little bit more like he got 'beat up' generally." [From 39:54 to 40:46]

Chad Gable qualified for WWE Money in the Bank on RAW
During this week's edition of WWE RAW, Chad Gable competed in a triple threat match against Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman to quantify for the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
For the most part, Reed and Strowman were in control of the bout but The Judgment Day came out to attack the former Wyatt Family member, which helped Gable to sneak in and steal the victory.
Following the bout, The Alpha Academy leader was celebrating inside the squared circle. However, Wyatt Sicks' theme started playing and Nikki Cross came inside the ring, which terrified Gable and he immediately left.
It will be interesting to see if Wyatt Sicks has planned another attack on The Alpha Academy leader in the future on WWE television.
