Fan-favorite superstar will turn heel and betray Cody Rhodes in a major swerve and begin a long feud with him, believes Eric Bischoff
Cody Rhodes has become the centerpiece on RAW. Though he is not involved in a World Championship feud, he is still feuding for the tag team championships. The American Nightmare and Jey Uso won the tag team titles by defeating The Judgement Day. However, they lost the belts within days.
Even though they are not the tag team champions right now, fans loved the team of Cody Rhodes and 11-time tag team champion Jey Uso. Last week on RAW, the two men lost the tag team titles because of Jimmy Uso's interference and it looks like Rhodes is not yet done with The Bloodline.
However, a significant swerve could happen soon with Jey Uso turning on Cody Rhodes. Speaking on Strictly Business, Eric Bischoff and Conrad Thomson discussed the pairing of Uso and Rhodes. Bischoff believes that Rhodes' blind trust in Jey Uso is akin to the story of Sting trusting Ric Flair only to be betrayed.
''I got to assume that is where they are heading with Cody. Now he has got someone he knew, liked, and trusted and he turns on him and we get that match and then we level our way back to the big boss,'' said Conrad Thomson (1:09:22-1:09:34)
''That's what I am feeling at this point,'' replied Eric Bischoff
Is Jey Uso just a distraction for Cody Rhodes?
Former WCW Head Honcho Eric Bischoff questioned WWE's decision to put the former Royal Rumble winner in a tag team. While he didn't think it was necessary, he thinks that Rhodes is being positioned as the top babyface like Sting once was. The Icon kept trusting Ric Flair every time the Four Horsemen broke up but ended up getting betrayed. He believes this is what will happen with Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.
With The American Nightmare on RAW and Roman Reigns on SmackDown, a feud between the two is not imminent. So it would make sense that Rhodes remains the top babyface and getting betrayed by the man he helped bring to RAW, would ensure that. He could end his feud with Jey Uso around WrestleMania 40, where he might face Roman Reigns.
