12-time champion fires major shots at Drew McIntyre after the latter quit WWE
A 12-time WWE champion recently took to social media to fire major shots at Drew McIntyre after the latter quit the Stamford-based promotion on the latest edition of Monday Night RAW. The champion being referred to is Sheamus.
Drew McIntyre recently locked horns with Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Clash at the Castle 2024 Premium Live Event in Glasgow, Scotland. However, The Archer of Infamy reigned supreme after CM Punk got involved in the match to take out The Scottish Warrior once again.
During the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, a frustrated McIntyre came out to cut a promo in front of fans. Everyone thought that he would rant about Punk's interference but much to fans' surprise, the 39-year-old star said that he was quitting WWE.
Drew McIntyre's long-time friend, Sheamus, recently took to X/Twitter to fire major shots at The Scottish Warrior, calling the latter stupid.
"I lost weight. He didn’t lose stupid."
Check out Sheamus' tweet below:
This was a callback from an episode of RAW where Sheamus and Drew McIntyre cut a promo in which The Scottish Warrior made fun of The Celtic Warrior's weight gain and the latter called the former World Heavyweight Champion stupid for his "obsession" with CM Punk.
Matt Morgan believes Drew McIntyre should make an appearance in a different wrestling promotion after quitting WWE
During an edition of the Gigantic Pop podcast, former WWE Superstar Matt Morgan said that no one believed Drew McIntyre when he quit the Stamford-based promotion on the latest episode of RAW.
Morgan also mentioned that if WWE wanted to make it seem legitimate, then McIntyre should make an appearance in TNA Wrestling.
"That would be cool to sell him quitting because nobody in America bought him quitting last night. As soon as you see the GM from RAW come out there and try to talk to him, you know it's obviously a work. We all know it's a work. He just re-signed, right? So, that would be a great way to sell it, having him popping up on TNA. That would be cool, yeah. I like that," Matt Morgan said.
It will be interesting to see what the Stamford-based promotion has planned for Drew McIntyre's future following the events that transpired on the latest episode of RAW.
