12-time champion might have made his last WWE appearance on this week's episode of RAW, thinks Sam RobertsĀ
Sam Roberts discussed a shocking angle that went down on this week's WWE RAW and what long-term repercussions it could have. He spoke about Big E being booted out of The New Day and wondered if fans would ever get to see him again.
Over the last few weeks, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have struggled to remain on the same page. Several fans even expected their tag team to implode soon, thus marking the end of New Day. However, what went down on RAW this week left everyone stunned and beyond heartbroken. Woods and Kingston teamed up to kick Big E out of the stable during the trio's 10-year anniversary celebration.
The two accused the former WWE Champion of not having their back while he recovered from a serious injury. On the latest edition of his NotSam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts shared his take on the unexpected turn of events.
The RAW Talk host wondered if Xavier Woods telling Big E that he would never be cleared was a way to convey that the latter's career was all but finished now.
"In order for all this to be worth it and I worry because Xavier Woods said it. 'Let's be honest, you're never gonna be medially cleared. I don't know if we have seen the last of Big E. The last thing I wanna see is Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston put their hands on Big E. That could be too much," said Sam Roberts. [18:59 - 19:24]

Sam Roberts wants The New Day to build a different persona in WWE
Furthermore, Roberts added now that Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston were heels on RAW, he was hoping to see a radical change in their presentation. The WWE personality believed that Woods and Kingston could undergo music and gear changes on the red brand that would establish their negative personas.
"I wanna know what the presentation of this team is gonna look like. When do they change the music? When do they change the gear? You can just be The New Day except now we have scowls on our face. There has to be something magnetic about you as villains that attracts me to watch. It doesn't make me like you, it makes me hate you," added Sam Roberts. [19:25 - 19:52]
Even in a recent essay he penned for The Player's Tribune, Big E hinted at potentially hanging up his boots. Only time will tell if fans will ever get to see him return to WWE to confront Woods and Kingston about their shocking betrayal.
