12-time champion could return to WWE RAW, says veteran, but won't be able to save The New Day's heartbreaking split
The New Day hasn't been able to be on the same page in WWE for a long time, and a potential breakup is around the corner. Meanwhile, Tommy Dreamer wants Big E to return for the upcoming episode of Monday Night RAW.
The New Day is at the cusp of a heartbreaking split and the upcoming anniversary might mark the end of the legendary faction. The trio started their journey ten years ago, but Big E hasn't been a part of the group for a while on the weekly product.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Tommy Dreamer wants Big E to return for the upcoming anniversary special. However, Dreamer believes the former WWE, Intercontinental, multi-time Tag Team Champion's return won't save the eventual split between Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston:
"It's going to be weird next week. It's a hell of a build. It's not just like this great celebration where everyone's happy. I think after next week, it's over. I want to see Big E come back; I want to have my one last picture of them together, and then your parents are getting divorced. Your favorite couple is breaking up, and it's over," Dreamer said. The New Day's Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston fired shots at each other on WWE RAW
Earlier this year, tension grew strong between Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston on Monday Night RAW. Regardless of Karrion Kross' mind games, the two overcame those odds and stayed focused as a tag team.
The New Day has suffered a lot in the past few years as Big E's absence has affected the team's momentum in the Stamford-based promotion. Nevertheless, they captured the NXT Tag Team Championships and had a decent run.
On the recent edition of WWE RAW, both stars went off on each other and took some shots, which even stung the audience. Kingston claimed Woods was never good enough, which is why he hasn't won a singles title.
Meanwhile, Xavier Woods didn't hold back as he reminded Kofi Kingston of his embarrassing loss to Brock Lesnar, which was in a matter of seconds with the WWE Championship on the line.
The two are growing apart as the weeks go by, and The New Day could likely end in the coming week when they celebrate their tenth anniversary in the Stamford-based promotion.
