12-time World Champion set for an appearance outside WWE

Wrestling has been at an all-time high and promotions outside WWE have also benefited from the new era. It was recently revealed that former 12-time World Champion (6x WWE and 6x TNA) Kurt Angle is set to make an appearance for GCW.

A few years ago, Kurt Angle hung up the wrestling boots and accepted retirement when he lost to Baron Corbin at The Grandest Stage of Them All in New Jersey. The Olympic Gold Medalist is well known for his time in TNA and WWE, as he won multiple championships and was a delight to watch in the ring.

Today, GCW's official X (formerly Twitter) account announced the upcoming appearance of Kurt Angle on Dream On. The WWE Hall of Famer is set to make an appearance at the event in November. The event will take place in the month's final week and feature several notable names from the independent scene.

"GCW comes to The American Dream Mall on Saturday, November 23rd! Just Signed: WWE Hall of Famer KURT ANGLE comes to GCW for the first time on 11/23 at #GCWDream!" GCW wrote.

Kurt Angle has made sporadic appearances for WWE since 2019

In 2018, Kurt Angle spent months feuding with Baron Corbin for the right to run Monday Night RAW. The two often got the upper hand over each other, but their feud eventually culminated at WrestleMania 35.

Later, Kurt Angle made sporadic appearances for the Stamford-based company, as and when needed. The Hall of Famer and his legacy were further celebrated under Triple H's leadership.

In 2022, the management booked Friday Night SmackDown around the veteran's 54th birthday. The show also had a segment where he and Gable Steveson doused Alpha Academy with milk.

Later, the Hall of Famer appeared on Monday Night RAW alongside D-Generation X. The comedic segment led to Imperium confronting the veterans. Later, Seth Rollins and Street Profits defeated the faction.

The 12-time World Champion hasn't appeared on weekly television in a while. It will be interesting to see if Angle makes his return to WWE TV soon.
