''Not there yet''- 14-time champion on why top RAW superstar wasn't chosen as Edge's WrestleMania 38 opponent

The Hall of Famer will face AJ Styles at WrestleMania

Edge will face AJ Styles at WrestleMania 38 in what many fans are calling a potential match of the night. Both men have never faced each other before and this will truly be a dream match. Tommy Dreamer believes AJ Styles is the perfect opponent for the 48-year-old as a younger superstar like Austin Theory isn't ready.

The Rated R Superstar called out anyone from the RAW roster to challenge him at WrestleMania. AJ Styles answered his call and was viciously attacked by the former WWE champion as a result.

On Busted Open Radio, it was mentioned that WWE could have given the rub to someone younger by having them face The Rated R Superstar at WrestleMania. 14-time Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer talked about the various possibilities for his opponent:

"Austin Theory is not there yet. If Vince McMahon was heavily involved you could see where they might be going with that. They already did that thing with The Miz. It would have been great to have a WrestleMania moment with Edge and Beth, what they did with Miz and Maryse. Would've turned out great. They decided to do that at Royal Rumble,'' said Dreamer. Edge and AJ Styles will clash for the first time at WrestleMania 38

Though there were rumors that Cody Rhodes could be Edge's WrestleMania opponent, the company decided to go with AJ Styles. The two former WWE champions are considered two of the greatest in-ring performers.

While Austin Theory might not have been chosen to face The Ultimate Oppurtunist at the Grandest Stage of Them All, he will be facing SmackDown announcer Pat McAfee at the show. It will be interesting to see if the 24-year-old will be able to beat McAfee with the help of Vince McMahon.
