5-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion to make SmackDown return to deal with Randy Orton, says analyst
WWE appears to have awoken a sleeping giant in the form of Randy Orton by not giving him what he wants at Crown Jewel. Wrestling analyst Sam Roberts recently weighed in on the ongoing situation between Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.
The Prizefighter has been on a rampage since Cody Rhodes sided with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood. He first attacked The American Nightmare off the premises, which resulted in him getting suspended indefinitely. Days later, he did the same to The Viper when the latter attempted to mediate between Owens and Rhodes.
Last week on SmackDown, Orton asked Aldis to give him a match against Owens at the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event on November 2. But the SmackDown General Manager turned him down, saying those "up above" did not want to make this happen.
Speaking on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts said Nick Aldis was referring to 5-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion and COO, Triple H:
"Who do we know is the on-screen hierarchy here? You know what I mean, like, we're not talking about, I mean, what's he gonna do? Go to The Rock and the board of directors? I don't think so...Triple H is obviously the person that he needs to go to," Roberts said.
Roberts thinks fans could soon see a face-off between the two Evolution members, which could eventually lead to the inevitable match between Owens and Orton at Crown Jewel:
"If this means we're getting a [Randy] Orton-Triple H television segment, I mean, I can't tell you, I'm all for it is a dramatic understatement...And clearly, we're not going to get a Triple H vs. Randy Orton match, but just the magic of those two being on screen again is going to be enough for me, because where I would imagine it's going to go is Randy Orton is going to be able to play on that history. [Randy] Orton is going to be able to play on the connection that the two of them have in how far back and deep that goes. And Randy Orton is going to be able to convince Triple H to give him this Crown Jewel match with Kevin Owens," he added. (From 11:11 to 12:35)

Randy Orton set for a blockbuster Survivor Series match?
Whether The Viper can convince The Game to give him the Canadian wrestler remains to be seen. But a triple-threat match pitting Randy Orton and Kevin Owens against Cody Rhodes could be on the cards for Survivor Series: WarGames this year.
Speaking on the Rebooked podcast, formerly Aiden English discussed a potential booking option for all three men going forward:
"I think the common logic has this going toward a triple threat. My gut says triple threat at Survivor Series," he said.
As for now, Cody Rhodes has set his sights on winning the inaugural Crown Jewel Championship in his upcoming match against Gunther.
