2-time WWE champion breaks silence after betraying Sheamus on RAW

On this week's WWE RAW, fans witnessed a shocking betrayal after Sheamus was blindsided and attacked by his former teammate, Pete Dunne. The one-time WWE United Kingdom Champion and a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion took to his social media account to share his reaction.

For those unaware, The Celtic Warrior used to lead a faction named The Brawling Brutes alongside Dunne and Ridge Holland between 2021 and 2023. Even though the group didn't win any gold, they were a big hit with fans.

However, Sheamus went off television following his match against Edge (Adam Copeland) in August 2023. Three months later, Holland walked out on Dunne during a tag team match. As a result, The Brawling Brutes was disbanded. Last week on the flagship show, The Bruiserweight suffered a defeat at the hands of Bronson Reed in a singles match. After the bout, the Aussie star tried to assault Pete Dunne, but The Celtic Warrior came to the rescue of his former Brawling Brutes member.

On the July 15 edition of RAW, Sheamus picked up a big win over Reed. The 35-year-old was about to attack the former WWE Champion, but Dunne came out to help his former teammate, only to shockingly turn his back on Sheamus.

Taking to Instagram, The Bruiserweight broke his silence and fired a major shot at the 46-year-old after backstabbing him on television.

"Tears for Sheamo. Probably," Dunne wrote.

Top WWE star breaks character to pay tribute to Sheamus

The Irishman recently completed 15 years in World Wrestling Entertainment. Among many superstars, The Judgment Day's Damian Priest broke his on-screen character to praise Sheamus.

In a video shared by WWE, the World Heavyweight Champion congratulated The Celtic Warrior on having a Hall of Fame career. The Archer of Infamy also joked that he wanted the 46-year-old to stay away from him.

"Sheamus, congratulations on your obviously Hall of Fame career. What you have meant to this business and to people like myself trying to make a name for themselves in it. It is something special that you should be proud of. Mentoring guys, battle-testing guys, and then just going out there and putting it all on the line and giving your all for the WWE Universe. That is what we can all strive for, let alone all of the accolades you have. So, I just want to say, 'Thank you!' We all appreciate you, and please stay the hell away from me," he said.

It remains to be seen if Sheamus will go head-to-head with his former Brawling Brutes member, Pete Dunne, on next week's edition of Monday Night RAW.
