2-time WWE champion confirms he will never wrestle again

A WWE legend has made it clear that he has no intention of stepping inside the ring ever again. Diamond Dallas Page explained that though he was physically fit, he did not want to put his body at risk by wrestling and wanted to keep himself healthy.

DDP is one of the biggest names in World Wrestling Championship history, having held the WCW World Title on three occasions. After the promotion folded, he joined WWE, where he held the Tag Team and European championships. The 68-year-old legend also had stints in TNA and AEW, with his last match going down in the latter promotion in 2020. Since then, he's stayed away from the ring.

In his recent appearance on the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast, DDP was asked whether he would ever consider getting back to in-ring competition. The WCW legend made it clear that while he didn't have any physical ailments, he was happy staying away from any danger that could come with wrestling at this age.

"No [laughs]. It's so important for me, my body feels good," said DDP.

DDP recently signed a Legends contract with WWE

DDP was in attendance at Bad Blood 2024 earlier this year, where he came to support Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns in their match against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. Following the show, it was revealed that DDP had struck a Legends contract with the Stamford-based promotion.

He confirmed the news on X/Twitter, writing that he was overjoyed to be a part of this new era headed by Triple H.

"I want to thank Paul Levesque, a.k.a. @TripleH for a hell of a time💥 With him at the helm of creative, along with the new owners of @TKOGrp, I personally had one of my favorite times at a #WWE event. Knowing my HOF career was made in WCW, regardless of how many close friends I had there at WWE, I never felt totally welcomed. Last night was different. When I got home tonight, I signed my Legends deal and sent it in," he wrote.

It remains to be seen whether Diamond Dallas Page will make more appearances on TV in the coming months as he's now exclusively tied to the promotion.
