30-year-old former champion seemingly confirms leaving WWE on Saturday
A current WWE star has dropped a major hint regarding his future with the company. The name in question is Jagger Reid, who looks all set to leave the global juggernaut along with his tag partner Rip Fowler on Saturday, October 14.
Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler, also known as The Dyad, have been a part of the Stamford-based promotion since 2018. A few months back, the duo demanded their release from the company which they later revealed was denied. They continued to work on NXT after that but were recently written off TV programming.
It has been reported in the past that the former NXT UK Tag Team Champions will be departing the company once their contracts expire. Now Jagger Reid has seemingly confirmed the rumors through his latest post on social media where he is counting down to when his deal is up. The 30-year-old also teased the duo returning to their old in-ring name, as Fowler and Reid were formerly known as Zack Gibson and James Drake respectively.
Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler were part of The Schism on WWE NXT
Reid and Fowler were part of NXT UK as The Grizzled Young Veterans for a couple of years and even defeated Moustache Mountain to become the inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions. However, the duo transitioned to the States-based NXT in 2020.
After spending some time on WWE's third brand, the duo were repackaged as The Dyad and joined Joe Gacy to form The Schism. Ava also joined their ranks later.
However, the group is no longer together as Joe Gacy recently made it clear that he needs to find his purpose and told Ava to go her separate way too. Meanwhile, Reid and Fowler have not been seen on WWE programming since their Steel Cage match against The Creed Brothers in August.
The duo are expected to return to the United Kingdom after their contracts expire this Saturday.
