30-year-old WWE star pays tribute to Sheamus in major match
Sheamus has had an explosive career with several big highlights. The four-time WWE World Champion is known for being a vicious striker and a very physical fighter in his matches. Notably, a 30-year-old star recently paid tribute to The Celtic Warrior during a major number-one contender match.
Pete Dunne and his New Catch Republic partner Tyler Bate kicked off the NXT Tag Team Turmoil match on June 25, 2024. The duo put up a great fight and lasted till the end before eventually losing to Chase U. Interestingly, the ironclad performance by Dunne involved an instance where he used one of Sheamus’ signature attacks.
Check it out in the clip below:
Sheamus has used the same move to wear down several of his opponents before dismantling them with a Brogue Kick or a High Cross. The Bruiserweight had almost finished things the same way, but Chase U took advantage of the high fatigue of the New Catch Republic to score the win.
With this loss, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate have lost a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship on Heatwave. It will be interesting to see if this little tribute boosts Sheamus’ spirits for his heated rivalry against Ludwig Kaiser on WWE RAW.
