31-year-old WWE Superstar's run "isn't working at this point," feels Bill Apter (Exclusive)
WWE has no dearth of talented stars on its roster currently. However, a particular legend's son who is part of the white and gold brand is apparently not quite up to the mark yet, according to veteran wrestling journalist, Bill Apter.
Brian Pillman's son is currently in NXT performing under the name - Lexis King. Despite being in the pro wrestling business for more than half a decade, the 31-year-old has yet to win his first title in WWE. He was also a part of AEW at one point, which did not lead to any championship runs either.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine show hosted by Mac Davis, veteran wrestling journalist, Apter expressed concerns about Lexis King's career. He stated:
"His [Brian Pillman's] son [Lexis King] has been trying to make it in NXT and the indies and all that, and there's just something that isn't working at this point." [2:48 onwards]

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long had a suggestion for Lexis King
According to Hall of Famer, Teddy Long, the best way to elevate Lexis King would be to have him be a heel and bring Brian Pillman's name into the scenario.
Speaking on the same episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine, Long explained that King could turn heel and namedrop his legendary father for being the reason he could never succeed in the business. Long said he could cut promos about not wanting to follow Pillman's footsteps, and instead make his own path.
"You know what might work for him, you know what I mean [....] Like I said, he's been in lot of places and you know they just can't find his niche yet [...] If I was him, I would maybe just turn heel, and just come out, start cutting heel promos. 'The reason I am not making it is because everybody wants me to be like my dad, but I don't wanna be.' You know what I mean?" he said. [3:00 onwards]
As of now, it remains to be seen what is next for Lexis King in WWE.
