34-year-old star breaks silence; first win outside WWE in over three years

WWE has expanded its reach under the new regime as superstars have often appeared in other promotions for a match or two, representing the Stamford-based company. Today, former SmackDown Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller broke his silence after his win at Pro Wrestling Australia.

Earlier this year, the promotion announced Grayson Waller would return to Australia to compete at Pro Wrestling Australia's Colosseum event. During the event, Waller defeated Jimmy Townsend, which marked his first singles win outside of the Stamford-based promotion in over three years.

In 2021, Waller was last seen on the independent circuit as he signed with WWE and headed to the developmental brand. After the match, the 34-year-old star spoke highly of the Australian talent around the world and their impact on the modern wrestling scene.

"I love Australian wrestling. I love it more than anything. And shout out to the WWE for letting me come here and perform for you tonight... We're the best fans, we've the best wrestlers, we run it, and PWA is at the very top. So, please whatever you do, keep supporting PWA. Keep supporting Australian wrestling, cause we're taking over the whole globe, baby," Waller said. (From 1:48:00 to 1:49:12)

What is Grayson Waller doing in WWE?

Earlier this year, Grayson Waller reached new heights on Friday Night SmackDown when his pairing with Austin Theory connected strongly with the fans.

Later, the duo entered WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia and won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship from The Judgment Day. During the six-pack ladder tag team match, they couldn't win both titles as the other belts went to Awesome Truth.

In the coming weeks, they became the WWE Tag Team Champions, and the old titles were discontinued. Later, they feuded with Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa (#DIY) and lost the titles.

Lately, there's been tension between Waller and Austin Theory. However, they are still working as a tag team. Earlier this month, they headed to NXT and lost to Nathan Frazer and Axiom, in a match for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
