34-year-old superstar claims that WWE denied release request

WWE has been known to refuse several release requests in recent years, one of the most famous being Sasha Banks when Vince McMahon instead told her to take some time away from the company.

It seems that Banks wasn't the only female wrestler who was denied her release when she asked for it. Former star Lacey Evans recently spoke to Carlo Perruzza:

“It was incredible. It was awesome. I invested so much money in properties, and I’m doing great. I appreciate everything that I have gotten knowledge-wise and relationship-wise. But, from the beginning of my career, I’ve always wanted a family; I’ve always wanted a big family, I’ve always wanted to be a mom, I’ve always wanted to be a wife, and there was nothing that would ever come between that. Seven years ago, I was with the WWE. I was 33 when I finally got to get out of my… they wouldn’t even let me out of my contract, which was fine."

Evans was able to sit out her contract and departed the company back in August 2023, she has since spent the time working on her new cafe, which she named after her two daughters.

Former WWE Superstar Lacey Evans is open to an in-ring return

Evans was unable to capture a Championship in her seven-year tenure with WWE and has noted several times that wrestling was not her passion. Despite that, she recently claimed that she would be open to returning to the ring with the right company.

“Yeah, I mean, I love wrestling, don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t my passion, but I love the hard-hitting action. If there’s a company out there that will bring me in to kick ass and get my ass kicked, that’s great. But right now, we are focused on a lot. We have a lot of investment properties. We have a construction company, my husband’s a general contractor, which we’ve run prior to WWE."
